I have quite a mixed review about Mimosa. It’s a nice looking deli/café located close to where I work, so naturally I’ve been there lots of times for lunch. They have a large range of salads and fresh sandwich fillings for lunch, as well as hot specials and baked goods. I really enjoy their three salad box. You choose from their range of salads — I normally select roasted vegetables, lentils and the dresses green beans and roasted tomatoes. You then get to select some meat, cheese or fish to go with it. I highly recommend the salmon. You check a large portion of chunky cooked salmon — delicious and quite good at £5.50 for the box. You can opt for 1 or 2 salads in the box which makes it a bit cheaper. I’ve had lasagne from there before, which was okay but not fab. I’ve always had an okay experience, but I’ve heard mixed reviews from colleagues. I’ve also used them a few times for catering for work events. Unfortunately my last experience with them was terrible and as a company we won’t be using them again. The sandwiches arrived at 11am and the bread was stale, the fillings were awful. I had two whole trays of mackerel sandwiches, which I thought was a very strange filling for catering. They hadn’t separated some veggie filling sandwiches from meat ones on the tray, and nearly all sandwiches whether chicken salad, tuna salad or hummus, included a slice of cheese… Which made a lot of them unsuitable for anyone avoiding dairy. We obviously complained and they came back to me basically saying what I hadn’t claimed couldn’t be true. I’d have no reason to make it up though, so I thought their response was a bit ridiculous. They did knock 10% off the invoice and offered to bring us a cake as a way of apology. We said thanks, that’d be great, and they never showed up with a cake. Rude. I’d give 3 stars for their lunch food, but only 1 star for their catering services.
