The place serves some of the best coffee in NW London and is a great place for people watching. I often take my laptop and do some work with a coffee and pastry. Firstly, the coffee… whenever I see a Minkies logo at a festival or market I flock to it. These guys just really know their coffee. I often go to Kensal Rise for a take way from Minkies. The food is OK but nothing amazing. Though I am partial to their spinach pastries. It would be nice if they had a more vast breakfast menu. The customer service here is really good. The staff are really kind and are a great mixture of helpful & respectful of your space. When I’m working on my laptop, they will check in with me every half an hour or so but never make me feel like I have to keep ordering. I would highly recommend Minkies to coffee enthusiasts everywhere.

Having heard great things about this place — I can’t say I was all that blown away. The coffee was pretty standard, even a little bitter and not all that well made. The quality is about equal to Costa or other chairs, so if that’s your kind of thing maybe you’d appreciate this place more than myself. While the coffee failed to impress me, the deli is well stocked with organic goodies and a small selection of teas they brew in the café. Worth dropping by for a browse if you’re in the area.

Who cares when there us cake?!?

Maybe it was the spring day, but I found the place very very pleasant. There were sandwiches of all kinds for about four or 5 lbs they had breakfast for about 8 lbs and juices tease and coffees were 2 to 3 lbs. The sandwich I had, the Italian job was made of, Parma ham mozzarella cheese, tomato and some basil on a sesame bagel. It was terrific. If you are in the neighborhood and want to sit outside or just look outside for a sandwich or some brunch this is a terrific choice.

Not a bad place in a rather shabby looking part of London, coffee is good but food a bit hit and miss.

On a nice Saturday afternoon, I decided to explore an area I did not know very well. So I walked around Queen’s Park a bit, and when I was looking for a place to refuel with a coffee, I came across Minkies Deli. When I arrived at Minkies Deli nearby Kensal Rise Overground station, they were already closing, but I still got a flat white and a muffin to enjoy outside on one of the numerous benches in front of the shop. Minkies Deli is a nice coffee shop and deli, and if you get there earlier than me, you can even sit inside. However, when the sun is shining, outside is nicer anyway. The muffin I had was a weird mix, not your typical sweet muffin, but also not really a savoury muffin, but something sweet in between with somewhat healthy incredients. What was more interesting was the coffee. For their coffee drinks, Minkies Deli uses a customised single-origin blend from Capital( ), a SW London coffee roaster I had never heard of before. In my takeaway cup, I really liked the flat white, and I think it is fair to say that Minkies Deli is a pretty good option if you are in search for a good coffee around Kensal Rise. Will have to go back to sample some more food as well

I noticed that all of the good reviews of this place were from a few years ago and can only assume that new management has taken over to cause such a decline from what earlier reviewers have said. I am a local in Kensal Rise and have taken the time to give this deli three chances, in which they have failed each time. Over-priced food, terribly bitter coffee, and the ‘porridge’ I was served was well below average. Looks like they use toasted oats to make the porridge, it was dry and just clumped in the bowl. We were sitting outside waiting for our coffees and when I went inside both coffees were just sitting on the bench behind the counter, when the staff member just indicated that our coffees were there. We hadn’t paid yet, were sitting outside, then the owner locks the door. I go to enter the café to pay, realise the door is locked and he tells me to go around the front despite him being not even a metre away from the door. Nearly all of the staff don’t have a clue, apart from three staff members who are lovely and friendly. Especially the Australian barrista. Never going back to this place again.

Have passed by this place on a bus many a times and finally had the chance to grab some grub on a exploration saturday. Two stars for two reasons. 1.) Gentlemen at the counter was completely unfriendly, directly at me, but visibly friendly to other people, possibly regulars, before and after he took my order. Not welcoming at all. Made me insta-pissed and I didn’t like it. :( 2.) I wanted something small but tasty so ordered a bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was stale and the cream cheese was actually just soft cheese and had no flavor*. I mean I would have been fine with the bagel(it is really just a place to put cream cheese and not look too guilty eating it) if it was good cream cheese but it was flavorless and bleh. Sorry Minkie but you’re lame. *actually there was butter on the bagel as well. That is something I’ve noticed here in London, indiscriminately using butter AND cream cheese on a bagel. just gross.

A great café for locals. Pleasant atmosphere, great location and fantastic opening hours. The staff can be surly at times but this doesn’t happen very often. A good slection of quality cakes. We need more places like this in the area!

Living in Willesden Green, we’re not exactly spoilt for choice when it comes to nice little lunch spots, so finding Minkies Deli around the corner in Kensal Rise was brilliant! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is really laid back. There’s a good selection of food, the coffee is great, and there’s a little organic fruit and veg stall at the front. If you live in the area, you should definitely pop in and support this small, local business

Good local deli — can be incredibly slow to get served so don’t come looking for coffee in a hurry! The continuous Classic FM piped throughout(and outside in the summer!) can grate but the food and coffee are good enough.

You shouldn’t move to a neighbourhood based on a deli. You shouldn’t move to a neighbourhood based on a deli. You shouldn’t move to a neighbourhood based on a deli. Aw, sod it. Honestly, Minkie’s Deli makes me want to move to Kensal Rise. There. I said it. It’s just perfect. Offering the healthy fresh sandwiches and soup(I had the mozzarella, basil and tomato with a spicy lentil/spinach soup) and the not so healthy homemade lasagna, cookies, cakes, and the unhealthiest of all: free wi-fi. Plus there’s amazing outdoor seating on a bar that is literally made out of a tree trunk! Just keep repeating it Laura, you shouldn’t move to a neighbourhood based on a deli. But I think I’d move for Minkies.

Great local deli. Friendly, good service, quality patrons, indoor and outdoor seating … a great place to have breakfast or lunch or just a coffee. Conveniently located next to the Kensal Rise Overground stop along Chamberlyne Road.

Great coffee, a limited selection of nice homemade cakes to eat in or take away. The staff are friendly and there is often a good selection of organic fruit and veg beautifully arranged out the shop. However there’s an awful view over Kensal Rise station and the bus terminus, so it loses a star.

Such a lovely building, Minkie’s Deli is like a large glass house, right on the hill next to Kensal Rise Rail Station. They have lots of organic goodies, I even get my potatoes in there. But they’ve also got a lovely selection of cakes. You can even eat in, or have a coffee, inside or just outside. Friendly staff who I believe are brothers who own it!
