Went there for lunch. Lots of English people in the restaurant always a bad sign. The service was ok but the food poor to put it mildly. The chicken was hard as if it had been reheated. The salad as if it was 3 days old. I asked for spicy but it was not even hot. The kebabs were dry and the other grilled meats lacked flavour. The lamb meat was so tough I couldn’t eat it. In short dont bother to go here

Great Indian, no frills kinda place, you come here for a curry fix not a glamourous dinner. I’m a regular in the Tooting branch but came here as it’s slightly closer to where I live in Epsom. The atmosphere here is more chilled, it’s more spacious & has a selection of round tables mixed with the regular rectangle ones. I’d say it’s better here for families & groups than Tooting because if this. Now the food, same menu but the portions felt bigger! Mirch Masala fish is a must spicy & fried. Onion Bhajees, light & fluffy not like those chunky greasy balls you get in some places. Lamb curry on the bone, the way I like it with a side of pilau rice. The veggie selection is great, spicy veg dishes, such as peas paneer. The mix grill is great too. The best bit is bring your own booze & the bill… never more that £25-£30 for two, right time to loosen my jeans, stuffed.

Oh yes, this is definately the place to recommend. Food is good but if you dont like hot food make sure you inform waiter when ordering. The best is price. It is so cheap that pretty much everyone can afford it. The atmosphere is great. Brilliant place for bigger parties — you can bring you own alcohol!

There are few things more disappointing than a bad curry. Curry nights are social; they’re catching up with friends and rolling home stuffed with delicious gossip and delicious food. But if the food isn’t up to scratch, then that night won’t be remembered as ‘the time when Rachel told us that outrageous story that made us burst with laughter’, it’ll be ‘that time when we ingested three litres of vegetable oil’. Mirch Masala is bad curry. And I’m suprised, because we went there on a recommendation — that despite the basic appearance — canteen-style pale veneer tables and bare interior — that the food was good. And it isn’t. Starting with odd poppadums that looked suspiciously like the packet ones you get in the supermarket — too round, and oddly spiced with large coriander seeds — not at all to anyone’s liking. The starters seemed more promising — odd explosions of onion bhaji — loose strands in crispy heaps, rather than the traditional ball, and some very spicy chilli paneer. But it all went tragically wrong with the mains. A terrible keema which was totally the wrong colour, and the kind of awful, soft, meaty mince texture that proves difficult to swallow. My saag chicken was a bowl of the most tasteless spinach and foul little lumps of chicken, but the most offputting thing about it was the inch of oil swimming on the surface. I do not exaggerate when I say it was pooled above the surface in dark, glistening yellow puddles, and I just couldn’t bear to break the surface and go fishing for another disgusting morsel. Two tentative forkfuls were enough and the rest sat glimmering menacingly. All in all, a rather sad culinary experience, reinforced by sad little touches like the décor and the horrible mishapen plastic baskets they brought the naan out in. And, to top it all off, it’s more expensive than many others in the area — £7 for the spinach-in-oil and the same again for the keema-mush. If I haven’t got an upset stomach within the next hour or so, I’ll be mightily suprised. Best avoided.

I came here for my 21st birthday and definitely enjoyed the experience! It’s useful to know that there is no alcohol served, so remember to bring your own(making your bill even cheaper) and this just adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I came here for the Sunday buffet, which was under £7 and included various sheek kebabs, onion bhajis, pakoras, naan bread and poppadoms(which was just the starter) plus various curries and rice. Everything was tasty and cooked to perfection. I was definitely full, and would love to come back to try a wider range of dishes on the menu.
