There aren’t a lot of good restaurants in Norbury, so it was nice to find an Indian Restaurant that did a buffet within walking distance of my house. Should have been convenient for lunch. I went about three times before I finally convinced myself to stop going. I had a dodgy tummy afterwards every time and the food isn’t worth it. It’s very oily and not all that tasty. The different dishes taste pretty much the same. It also doesn’t feel entirely clean. I had to send a plate back once. It has a pretty low food hygiene rating, if you look it up. It’s a shame, as it seems as if it was once a great place.

The food and service is still good however, the whole place could do with a proper clean. Especially the restrooms and tables. The glassware us also in need of a polish.

We had a party of 40 for my sister’s 18th birthday in Mirch Masala Norbury on Saturday evening. Table booked and price agreed for 5pm to 8pm. Why were we told at 7pm that we had to leave in the next 20 minutes? Manager claimed to have a big party booked for 8pm but they did not show up. He alternately claimed our«curfew» was 7pm, then 8pm then bizarrely 730pm. Clown. Strange to be so averse to business in these times but there you go. Food was brilliant when this place first opened, got preditably generic in more recent times but to be fair was very good on saturday. However I cannot in good conscience praise an establishment that was so openly rude to my fam — go and enjoy a kebab roll and some starters by all means but don’t trust these clowns with anything important they don’t appreciate or deserve that level of custom. Food was nice. However i will warn that a low spicy dish was still very spicy.

Best Service I’ve experienced! Friendly staff and response time, food service EXCELLENT! My husband and I went in the evening. Had chicken tikka and I had butter chicken! the meat was tender, and beautifuilly seasoned. We had wonderful hot NAAN bread. The Sauce on the meat heaven! We had a lovely salad, and they offered various dipping sauces, one cool and the other spicy! I had lovely indian tea. I was so impressed with this place, the atmosphere, and people who work there. I’d say they are better than any indian restaurant I’ve gone to in Singapore. or in all of my home state California from San Francisco to Los Angeles. My favorite place! Price is reasonable and food is LOVELY. GOTHERE!

I used to have mixed feelings about this curry house until I discovered the Methi Butter Bean curry. It’s great. Who could have thought that butter beans and a bit of curry sauce would make such a classic curry? Also worth a try are the fish curries. The lamb curries are passable, but steer clear of the chickpea-spinach combination: it’s a bit gross. The service is great with the waiters seemingly having a photographic memory of everyone who comes into their restaurant. They also do deliveries to Streatham for free if you don’t want your curry to cool down during the walk back over Streatham Common.

I love love love Mirch Masala. It’s super-handy for Streathamers and does a great variety of healthy, tasty Indian vegetarian food, as well as meat dishes. I especially rate the butter bean curry and the chick pea curry. They give you big jugs of free tap water. It’s very cheap; you’re always surprised about how little the bill comes to. They also dotakeway, but can be a bit arsey if you live in Streatham, even though it’s close, as they consider themselves in to be technically in Norbury. Waiters are friendly, even thought the restaurant can get pretty busy due to the darn tasty food.

This Indian restaurant is a good quality with consistently good cuisine, The food choice is very good and varied. Excellent food and mid-priced and is thus excellent value for money. I have visited this restaurant countless times for dinner. Recommended but note and be warned this is not a gourmet restaurant just a local Indian.
