The largest supermarket in Wood Green area of North London. The appearance of the store reflects the area it is situated in. There is a bus stop right at the front entrance, making it a very busy area at all times. It is also very convenient if you are making your way to the supermarket by bus. There are a lot of pidgeons in front of the store, leaving the place messy and rather unhygienic. The inside of the store is dark(lots of greens and browns), with absolutely no natural light whatsoever. The shop looks and feels dated. I doubt it has been redecorated in the last 20 years. Morrisons is a mid-range supermarket when it comes to prices. There is a good selection and supply of stock. This is an ideal place to hunt for bargains, as the prices of many items are cheaper than other supermarkets. They also have occasional special offers of more bulkier household items, going at very good prices indeed. You just have to be lucky to find yourself there at the right time. The fishmonger area is small, but offering great selection of fish. Generally, their fish and meat are much cheaper than Sainsbury’s, another supermarket in the area. If you don’t feel like cooking for dinner, you can always get a rotisserie chicken, still hot from the oven and some of the salads from their large salad counter.

Even though Ken Morrison has relinquished executive control of Morrisons supermarkets, I like to think that his plain speaking, Yorkshiremans’ mark is still evident. Prices are pretty good here. This store is a bit cramped, and as part of the old Safeway estate has been saved from the worst excesses of the Morrisons typical store fit out, which are a feast of chunky dark wood counters and trellis. The good stuff in Morrisons is what you would expect to be good up North, the things that us nancy southerners don’t do very well anymore. Case in point, the sausage rolls from Morrisons instore bakery are superlative. The pastry is super flaky and super tasty, lard must be an ingredient, and you can feel the fat from the meat and pastry enter your brain about ten minutes after eating. A sausage roll coma of sorts. Try one today, satisfaction guaranteed.

This is right by the tube station, which makes it very convienient, and although its not huge, it does have all the basics. Is a good place to get all the bits you need, and is prety cheap(although ASDA is cheaper!) It is always very busy though, so be prepared to queue a lot

Morrison’s is a supermarket which sells products at cheaper prices than other supermarkets such as Tesco’s although I find that it’s not cheaper than asda. This store is fairly decently sized and it is located next to the wood green tube station so it is not far from the wood green shopping centre and high street. Its products, especially the Morrison’s own branded products are designed for families that want to do their weekly shopping on a budget and don’t mind buying no frills attached products. They are very good at advertising their special offers outside the store so that you know what bargains to look for when you enter the store.

i never thought how much I would miss safeways when morrisons took over the store we used regularly as closest to home. It has a car park which is unusual for around this area, but the food is disappointing and the store itself a mean size with more aisles of useless air fresheners than of actual foodstuffs. There are not enough tills and the queues are always horrendous. Special promotions are often out of stock, sell by dates are always close, and there are so many products that they do not stock at all or do not have in the size wanted. The big drawback is the prices you see on the shelves are far from the prices you actually pay at the till if you check your receipts and waiting to claim back the overcharged money is irritating. Either take the stickers off the shelves if a price has suddenly gone up or make it clear what the real price is. customers have to check their till receipts and complain when they are overcharged for an item. bring back safeways please! Prices do not just leap up a few pennies but by 20−40p and beware because if something is on special offer a few pence cheaper, then next week it will be double the price.

Averagely sized Morrisons, has a car park & is close enough to the tube station with buses outside the main entrance. Like a cheaper version of Tesco & sainsburys. One of the larger supermarkets in the area. Has a decent Gluten Free section within the store.
