Go here and get the qategna. No questions, just do it. And get a lot of other stuff too. It’s amazing.

Amazing food! Get a vegetarian platter and add a couple of meats. Make sure you engage the wait staff — they’re very personable!

Brilliant restaurant. The owners are so sweet and welcoming. Celebrated my birthday twice there and everybody loved it! The food is absolutely amazing and it’s such a nice atmosphere. Can only recommend this place!

I was introduced to some of the best Ethiopian food this Summer whilst abroad in the Middle East, run by an Ethiopian family, and God it was delicious. When I came back to London, I went on my quest to find an Ethiopian restaurant so I could satisfy my new cravings. Pleasantly, I found a couple, including Mosob, although a little far out from where I live. My first London Ethiopian meal: Mosob. I ordered the same dishes as I had done abroad, all served on injera bread as it usually is. I was sad. The flavors did not compare whatsoever to what I had abroad. The injera itself was very flakey and airy. I felt as though each dish had it’s flavor deliberately turned down for the British palette. Much like how Indian cuisine in Britain has altered itself here and there for the British palette. It wasn’t TERRIBLE, but it definitely did not bring back any warm fuzzy delicious memories. My quest continues… And recently found«KOKEB» — I recommend them much more. Full flavor, good injera, all cooked by one mother! My review for them will go up soon.

A friend brought nine of us here and it was my first time trying Eritrean food. The owner/staff of the restaurant were the sweetest people, instantly seeing how we were, making us laugh and teaching us a bit about Eritrea. Our friend did most of the ordering, so I’m not too sure what exactly everything was but we got yummy sharing appetizers with two sauces, then the large mains to share. It was a nice mix of vegetables and meats, though I strongly favored the meats, especially the chicken the steak. Then we finished with popcorn, coffee, brandy and dessert, all the while trying to think of all the capitals starting and ending in the same letter(the owner asked us this mind-numbing question). The starters and mains were better. Overall absolutely loved this place and the most amazing staff. Thought the price was a bit high but would definitely come back :)

Yay! My husband and I finally made it to Mosob after months of it being on our To Eat At list. I booked a table for us for a Thursday night though I know now that booking a table was not necessary. I booked through Mosob’s website on Monday and immediately received an email with my booking details along with a short note that someone from Mosob would be in contact to confirm. Two days later I received the confirmation email. So, this was a bit strange. For future bookings, I’ll use OpenTable versus directly booking via their website. Given the reviews, I was expecting the space to be extremely small with tables packed together so tightly that people would have to get up and tables would have to be physically moved just to get to and from the toilet but this was not the case. I felt there was adequate room in the restaurant. The restaurant has two distinct areas: The front area has normal height tables and chairs and a bar with a couple of bar stools. The back area has benches, slow stools, and coffee tables. The restaurant is not decked out in the latest trendy décor and furnishings but who cares. The food is good(oh and the toilets were a nice surprise, bright, recently renovated, clean, and not in the basement). To start, I ordered a cosmo and my husband ordered a Tusker, probably to remind him of our safari days in Kenya. My cosmo(s) were small but very tasty. To accompany our drinks, we ordered the Massawa set menu dish and enjoyed all of it with two slight exceptions. First, we were not huge fans of the spinach rolls(would have preferred all Timtimo rolls instead). Second, I was not a fan of the pickled cabbage though my husband loved it. He’s a cabbage lover, though. Service was great and delivered by one of the owners himself. Friendly, smiley, and funny are a few words to describe him. When I asked him if he was the owner, he said something like, «No. My mother, my brother, and I are owners.» I thought it was very neat that he didn’t take full credit and made it known that it is a family business. Overall, this was some of the best food we’ve had in London — could have done without the incense which was lit near the door(the smell dissipated soon after being lit) but it wasn’t enough of a hindrance to knock off a full star.

Of the very few Ethiopian or Eritrean restaurants in London, Mosob is not a bad bet. Its a bit far from anywhere, but the food and service makes the trek worthwhile. Hole-in-the-wall feel. If in doubt about what to order, ask the staff. The food is super-flavorful, and as close as it gets to the real deal(i.e. compared to good Ethiopian restaurants).

Wow, I see a LOT of 5 stars here, maybe a bit too much. Shortly. is it good? Yes it is, well… normally good. So first thing you’ll notice, the place is crowded. There is barely enough space where to seat, you are basically in contact with the table next to you. Now, that’s not that different from other places in London, but in this case is more annoying as this place has a unique feature: This is probably the sexiest, most intimate restaurant experience I could have in a restaurant. In this place you are going to eat EVERYTHING with you own hands: common dishes, you collect food with a kind of bread(it’s similar to a thick crêpe) and you directly put it in your mouth. There is probably no way for having a more intimate experience at a restaurant table. That’s why the fact that you are actually eating 3 cm from the next table is annoying. SUPER annoying. As a plus, lights are kept soft and the second hall has cushions and low tables… and people 5 centimeters from you. Yeah I mean, it’s enough to ruin your whole experience! maybe it’s just me but that’s something unacceptable in a place like that. Apart from this, the food is very good, but it’s northern african food: not very difficult food, good for the night where you want something different from the usual foreign cuisines, but that’s it. Appetizers are heated up in the microwave. Yes, no joking. Damn Microwave. And you can totally feel it. Last bad thing: dessert seems the ones you can actually get in an italian pizzeria(ice creams), avoid them. I mean, if you don’t want to do dessert(because your country is not famous for those, or because your cook don’t know how to prepare them) then DONOTSERVETHEM. Easy. That’s it, I got nothing wrong with a no dessert menu. At that point this place should have a 2 stars, ut it actually breaks the third star on the coffee. Try the special coffee(Yes even in 2 people, who cares?) it’s good and it’s nice, they are going to prepare it from scratch, directly from the green beans!

In short, this place is incredible. A colleague and I were traveling on business in London. It was our second trip there in a few months and both trips were long ones. One night, he declared he was in the mood for Ethiopian food, so we looked on Unilocal and this was clearly the place to go. The problem was we were clear across the city. But we decided to make the journey anyway. After a long and arduous taxi ride we arrived there at about 730 on a Friday evening, and we were immediately greeted with do you have a booking? I thought I was going to kill my colleague. But one of the owners turned to us and said I have two stools here that I can put at the bar. Would you mind eating there? We loved the idea. One of the other owners, Benjamin, took care of us as he waited bar for the entire restaurant. His service and recommendations were superb. The restaurant was very busy, but he also kept us entertained with amazing trivia(and drinks). We were not allowed to use our cell phones either and we obediently obliged. Long story short go there as the food, the service and the drinks are all phenomenal.

Mosob is a family-owned Eritrean restaurant. The employees are from Eritrea and are incredibly friendly. Dining there feels like you’re dining with old friends. The servers are eager to talk about Eritrea and will take the time to help you decide on a dish. The food is served family-style on a large crêpe and is eaten with your hands. Everything from the lamb down to the pickled veggies were delicious and full of flavor! The dish was so huge, I was able to eat leftovers for the next 2 days. The server told us, it’s usually better the next day anyway, because the crepes soak up all the flavor.(It’s true!) A very unique cultural dining experience worth going out of your way for. Mosob has me hooked on food from that region now. If only there were more places like this back home!

I was hungry when I got off the plane from NYC and Mosob delivered very clean and yummy food! I enjoyed that it was less oily than other Ethiopian food I have had. The spinach and cottage cheese was great! I enjoyed the veggie plate! Smiley service and party vibe was Really fun!

The vegetarian and meat price fixe selections are absolutely a palate extravaganza of the highest sort. Fresh and perfectly seasoned. Nothing bland here. Service is wonderful and highly personalized and hospitable — as if a caring friend was treating you to a special meal. Ambiance is comfortable and gentle.

Nice venue — according to my Eritrean friend, the good is not as great as some other alternatives but for me, dishes are all flavourful and there is nothing I did not like. I have been there numerous times — every time, servicing staffs have been very friendly and good feeling factors all around. Would definitely try once to see how you like it!

I had never experienced Erritrean cuisine before, but I love to try new food and this definatley intrigued me! We opted for the middle set menu for two, which consisted of a mix starter, followed by chicken, lamb, Okra and Falafel ALL on one plate, but not just that .it was also accompanied by vegetable and salad! No forks or knives,.you get a sour crêpe to pick up with and eat it from there. I Struggled to start with, but after a few minutes a really got the hang of it ! Sooo good to try something different and I loved it ! For drinks we had a number of Sexy Mosob’s and Also Margaritas(although not served in a margarita glass and was a little on the small side) it was kind of like Really refreshing and worth it !! Service was superb! Although I do think 1 more waitress would have been helpful. Would Defintaley recommend !

Mosob is officially one of my favorite restaurants in London! The set meals are well proportioned between meat and veggies. We had the lamb and chicken set menu and it was soo good. The spiciness of the lamb goes well with the rest of the meal especially when it’s cold outside(most of the time here). They do have a back room good for gatherings but would probably need to book in advance. There was a birthday party there when we went and it was surprisingly pretty quiet in the front. They also had a drink that was a mojito and a caipirinha mix — basically mojito with lime juice. definitely worth a try!

A must eat!!! The food was delicious and the service was amazing. For drinks we had a number of Sexy Mosob’s and it was kind of like a Mojito. Really refreshing and really packed an alcoholic punch! Having never had Eritrean food before, our server Benjamin explained how the food is scooped with the Injara bread. We opted for the set meal 2 to get a variety of dishes. The starters were very yummy. I really enjoyed the spinach roll and the paprika sauce. The mains were carried out on a pizza tray with a hat on it! The hat was whisked away displaying all of the yummy food on the tray. The lamb stew is a MUSTEAT! It was super yummy. So was the chicken stew, cabbage, and lentils. In fact, everything was yummy! The food used a lot of warm spices and had a slight kick to it. The bread is like a spongy crêpe and soaked up all the food goodness. There was a lot of food for the two of us and would couldn’t finish it all. The service was wonderful. We had a good laugh with Benjamin and he told us a little about the country and how the language works. I would defo come back here again in a heartbeat.

I’ve been meaning to visit Mosob for a very long time, having walked and driven past it so many times. It has certainly been worth the wait, the experience was a very special treat! I am a big fan of all things African and Mosob feels very genuine. The mixture of coffee roasting and frankincense transports you into a different world and makes you forget the urban sprawl of Harrow Road. The staff make you feel very welcome and I felt like visiting someone’s home rather than a restaurant. Everything on the menu sounded delicious but we were grateful for the guidance we received. I would probably never have chosen a dish of chicken and boiled egg in a chilli sauce, but this was the absolute highlight of our mixed platter! Even though it was late we could not resist the temptation of Bunne especially as staff had been waving the coffee beans under our noses all night which are roasted especially for each round of coffee. I had experienced the ceremony once before in Africa and was transported back when the hot popcorn and frankincence came along. The perfect finale to a relaxing night. I slept very well, dreaming of Africa
