Do you like absolutely outrageous customer service? Do you like being insulted by a store assistant? Do you like your bike being insulted by store assistants? Do you like being overcharged? Do you like being pushed to purchasing a service your bike clearly doesn’t need? Then Mosquito Bike is just the right place! They’ve been local to me for last 5 years and sadly nothing has ever changed! Yesterday I walked in with a favour to pump my tyres(my pump broke over a year ago and wasn’t able to get a new one since) and the guy first said ‘NO! The pump is only for emergencies!‘ Then I asked him to help(or some reason I can’t work out those big pumps.), he swore something and walked angrily outside. No conversation, no smile, no reply, just grumpily stated: ‘HMMM, you must buy your own pump!!’ pumped the front wheel and left, I caught him: ‘Could you help me with he back tyre too?’ he snatched: ‘NO! I have to go, customers are calling, I got to pick up the phone!‘ Of course, no one was calling, besides there was another guy on the shift… So I tried to pump up the tyre and failed. Walked in, he happily washed his hands and I asked: ‘Please, could you help me, the tyre got completely flat!!’ He gestured to his colleague something that an old hysterical Grandma from an Italian soup opera would gesture and angrily walked outside, annoyingly pumped up the tyre, didn’t even look at me and left — pronto! If they could get minus stars, I’d do that!!! I am so puzzled how the business is still open. I guess it must be the extremely overcharged service or something… So that’s why I usually head to Micycle at Barnsbury Street. The guys there are so amazing! Really cool, nice, relaxed and love making things happen! And with a smile on their faces!

I went to Mosquito Bikes for two years before learning my lesson. The staff is arrogant and inattentive. The service is sloppy and slow. There always seems to be a reason to overcharge.

This bike shop can be quite expensive but oh so worth the visit! The staff here really know their bikes, having chosen to work here for the love of cycling rather than as a job to fill in time. I bought a lovely Specialized bike here once that was just perfect for my daily commute and they even threw in a free helmet and first service! If they don’t have it in the store, they’ll order it in for you. This store also has a wide range of accessories including wet weather gear and reflective clothing — perfect for those soggy London commutes.
