It’s Japanese minimalist styling, they’ve got vacuum packed tshirts that you buy by the cube, they seem to be all about cardboard and seethrough plastic… I normally come here for stationary and the occasional something that catches my eye but don’t buy a lot from here anymore. This store is a little cramped for my liking, the problems of being in Carnaby street, I think I prefer the Oxford Street or Tottenham Court Road stores as they have more space and a little better layout. Still, it’s nice to be able to pop in here on my way to JC and pick up some essentials.

As much as I love all thing Muji(I mean… they’re Japanese! How could anyone not love Keroppi, Nintendo, or Vampire Hunter D?)… … I’ve gotta say that I still feel gouged every time I make a purchase here. A silicone ice-baller for whisky for £7.50 and basic bento sets running close to £25 make my wallet sad. Still, their simple clean designs and the obvious utility of each product can’t be argued with. If nothing else, I can be sure that the numerical figure that comes after the currency symbol will be less than the translated number in Yen. Le sigh.

This MUJI is smaller, but has the same items as the others. It’s also less busy so a lot of times you can find stuff here that’s sold out at the other locations.

This is the little boutique cousin of the main store on Oxford Street. Three floors packed into a small footprint contain clothing, odd bits for the home and fun little gadgets and stationary. There are some cute gifts and storage accessories for very reasonable prices. As we were pushing a pram it was a bit challenging in the tight space and with only a stair connecting the floors. Overall we were a bit disappointed. We wanted to see more, so next time we’ll spend our time in the Oxford Street location. Besides, its just around the corner.

I love Muji. Everything in here is about simplicity and fine lines with great packaging and design. I was looking for a pen and some notebooks recently at home, but when I saw them here I knew that I had to carry them back from vacation. They have a wide array of desktop supplies as well as great items for organisation in general. The staff here was particularly friendly too. I wish they would import this place back to the states. Currently they only sell things from here at the modern art museum store, and alas their web store is in Japanese. *sigh* Great design, reasonable prices, but hard for me to get at without being on vacation.

Shopping in Muji always brings me into a good mood. The product selection is so innovative, cute and simple covering randomly pretty much everything you can need. I am always so happy just trying to figure out what everything is, and thinking dearly what I could do with it. I Also get lots of basic stuff from this store, as everything comes in white, like my notebooks, portfolios and even binders. Call me boring but I just feel the same with these things with Muji. I dropped by this store the other day to see if I could find some Christmas presents and walked out with white colored stationery, transparent jewelry box for a ring, city in a bag(I chose Paris) and a organic growing gerbera in a bag(comes complete with soil, ready to go). I didn’t get any presents yet. but I am definitely going back.
