Teas only 70p so very good value for London. Went there and discovered the baked potatoes were very cheap. They stock chainy, high salt crisps ie Walkers however.

This Café has one of the best Sandwiches I have had since i landed here. I visit them everyday for my morning sandwich and lunch at times as well. The Staff is very pleasant and friendly. A surely must-visit place.

This café does it all, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, baps and rolls stuffed with goodness. There are cakes and other assorted quick meal goodness both hot and cold. For a fast lunch that will fill you, this is the place to go. The guys behind the counter don’t skimp on fillings and the prices are very fair. Well done No1 Café! You make a hungry boy happy.

Great value café for breakfast and lunch. Baked potatoes and sandwiches are a speciality with fast and friendly service. You know you have been going there too often when you say usual please and within seconds the sandwich appears. Choose your time to visit the shop as it can get quite busy with a longish queue. But don’t despair with 4 serving the queue moves quickly and you are served. Far better than other big brand sandwich shops. Go try it.

Thank the heavens that Sir Walter Raleigh, discovered the potato on his unsuccessful quest for gold and brought subsequent joy to millions in this country(he was a bit of a shit but his potato bearing does almost make up for it). All formats of the ever so versatile potato are more than welcome in my belly(obviously apart from the offensively bland boiled version) but my absolute favourite would have to be the jacket. It is officially the best thing since sliced bread, which is actually a bit crap when you think of the all the superior modern day alternatives. One of my favourite JP hangouts is No 1 Café. It’s just around the corner from my old work and I used to go there every lunch time, because quite frankly a Pret a Manger sandwich will do nothing to stem the perpetual hangover of London’s unfortunate retail worker community. A jacket potato on the other hand with lashings of butter– dumped on the hot potato before the filling rather than provided in a pathetic sachet afterwards(seriously, this has happened to me before) is just what the alcoholic ordered. Speaking of fillings, No 1 has them all. From old standards like beans and cheese to gross inventions like minted lamb. You can have these fillings in a sandwich on various different types of bread but to be honest, if your going for carbs, you might as well go whole hog as it were.

This is a great little café that does the most amazing bake potatoes with almost any filling you can think of. They also go really nice sandwiches and pasta or chilli with rice. Though if I were you I would go for the amazing huge bake potato with cheese and beans or with the chicken and stuffing. I think I know where I am having lunch today!

Probably one of my favourite places to eat in London. The prices are incredibly cheap and everything tastes fresh and yummy. Paninis are my favorites. It’s a tiny place on a corner of Earlham street, next door to Magma Books — just off Charing Cross Road. Jacket potatos with chesse and beans for £2,50! They also have a large choice of fillings in their fridge, and you can combine them with potatoes, baguettes or rolls. Eat in or take-away. I love it.
