Let’s put it simply; I could have bought the entire store.(If I had the money, that is). It’s a truly ace place to find presents as well, especially for the home-buddy amongst your love ones(have you heard? Christmas is coming?)

Great for quirky gifts for loved ones(they do fab wrapping paper), and the place lives up to its name in that it really is quite a small nook — be aware of where your bag is in case you knock anything over! I LOVE their crockery and kitchenware here, but find it slightly scary that they can charge 7+ quid for some cheap-looking plastic plates. The aesthetic of this shop’s offerings is very much what you’d expect the love child of Marimekko and IKEA to look like, so definitely worth a visit for some beautiful(if slightly overpriced) homewares.

I am shocked. SHOCKED. Shocked that no one has reviewed Nook yet. Because this is not only the kind of place that Unilocal was made for, it’s also the exact kind of place Unilocalers love to review. If I told you that there was a store called Nook in Stoke Newington, what would you think it sold? If you guessed anything but, «Adorable things for the homes of hipsters» then… well, I don’t know what, because it’s literally the only answer there ever could be. And you’d be right. Nook is a one-room store filled with adorable. Some of the adorable. All of the adorable. Each part of the store is separated into little sections. One for little statues and things on your tables(like themed, painted egg-cup holders). On for kitchen items made of wood and ceramic. One for bathroom things, with indie soap companies making unique soaps. One for cleaning, with tiny wooden handled shoe polishing kits. They even have a section with cute cards in case you want to buy anything for your a friend. Nook is one of those stores where you don’t really need anything from here, but you’d love everything from here. In the area? It’s worth checking out for sure. Enjoy the shopping, you happy hipster.
