Notting Hill Gate

Passage obligé à Notting Hill lors de ce weekend à Londres.
Malheureusement, vous avez peu de chances d’y croiser Hugh Grant, mais au moins, vous pourrez vous balader sans étouffer dans les rues de Portobello, qui sont touristiques certes, mais beaucoup plus agréable à visiter que les lieux bondés de Londres comme Piccadilly Circus.
Dans les rues de ce quartier, vous trouverez des antiquaires, des boutiques de fringues et de chaussures vintage, des boutiques d’artistes peintres ou des boutiques de photographes et évidemment, à chaque coin de rue, vous lèverez vos yeux au ciel pour admirer les tons pastels des maisons, inspirées de l’architecture victorienne.

Because Nottinghill was listed in the top 100 things to do, see, etc in London, I came to check it out! I was very fascinated by the amount of people and diverse culture here! It’s a very lovely place to stroll around! I mainly went down the main street where all the food vendors are. There are so many types of food and various shops! VERY FUN, EXCITING, and LIVELY! The vibrant colors of the shops and houses were very eye catching! I even had a mini photoshoot on the street along the beautifully colored houses with my travel buddy!
It’s impossible to be hungry on this street! I tried out some crepes, waffles, and falafels! You can literally find all kinds of cuisines with different tastes, salty, spicy, sweet, and sour!
The street was so long. I felt like it will never end, so I didnt go from end to end. The vendors close around 6, and they take down the entire store/​tent! Afterwards, a garage truck and street cleaning cart go down the street to make the streets sparkling clean again!

Just arrived here. Notting Hill Gate has REALLY changed. What happened to all the Italian restaurants that were here about 20 years ago? The tube station is really neat too. So different from yesteryear when it was a total dive.
Going to the Gate Picture House to see «I’m So Excited!» a nice artsy movie by Pedro Almodovar. Love subtitles. Love Amodovar. Saw the previews on
and it seemed pretty neat.

I’ve used this stop probably fewer than five times. I don’t remember much (if anything) about it, which I suppose is the mark of a good Tube stop.

No, you won’t find Julia Roberts here, but Hugh Grant is still a possibility. Notting Hill Gate tube station It is on the Central Line between Queensway and Holland Park, on the District/​Circle Line between Bayswater and High Street Ken. Expect big crowds here during rush hour with people changing from one to the other. There are also people who take the opportunity to switch if it’s a District train and they want Circle or vice-​versa.
Stairs down to the ticket hall and then escalators to the Central or District/​Circle line platforms, this station straddles both Travelcard Zones 1 and 2. TfL helpfully knows the difference and you will pay the lesser fare if you are traveling on an Oyster card.
It doesn’t really matter what you do, you’re always going to exit the station on the wrong side of the road. So there’s that.
Kensington Gardens is nearby.
