I wanted to try NY Fold despite the negative reviews I’d read, I’m not easily scared! I chose the Butchers shop option which turned out to be full of flavour, including parmesan. The meat quality was good with a very generous level and variety of toppings. The crust was good and the base crisp. My only issues with the place are easily fixable… When we went to pay, I didn’t say the precise names of the slices we chose but seeing as they have very different flavours, I found the attitude of the cashier pedantic. Their pizza displays unfortunately remind me of the cheaper, poorer quality cousins in London… Rethinking the layout will encourage people to justify the £3.95 price tag. The slices were warm, not hot. And finally, they didn’t say hello within the 1st2 minutes of us standing in the shop. But they do have a loyalty card so I’ll be looking for the mushroom option next time.

I’m a New Yorker looking for decent pizza around here. This ain’t it. The dough was like cardboard, our white clam pizza was way too salty. It also took forever to come, partly due to the fact that they turned the oven off(?) halfway through. Overpriced. Disappointing.

NY Fold is on the northern end of Charing Cross Road and provided a place to grab a quick meal before the theatre. The staff uniform states that they have the best pizza this side of the pond which is probably not true. We ordered some of the pasta dishes, I had tagliatelle with meatballs which had a microwave meal feel about it. The wife’s dish was meant to have chicken in it but was missing in action. All in all a little disappointing, the only good thing was that they had a selection of good beers.

Not the best pizza your gonna have in your life. I thought it most similar to a Pappa Johns but about a third of the cost more. A bonus for me is that they do deliver to offices and local apartments.

I came here whilst on holiday in London, from New York. I’d been missing pizza the whole trip and on my last day gave in when I saw NY Fold from across the street. The cardboard triangle tasted of nothing. The dough was simply d’oh. The tomato sauce was only there in spirit; a miserly red smear of a place-holder for where the flavour should have been. The cheese did not please. Expensive and disappointing and not representative of NY pizza, I should have known better.

NY Fold is(almost) next to Foyles on the Charing Cross Road. It is a Voodoo Ray’s-style affair where you can buy pizza buy the slice. They also have the option to order a whole pizza. I am quite fussy and like to use cutlery with pizza, and the(large) slice was served on a metallic tray with a knife and fork, which I liked. The pizza slice was fairly standard — was expecting slightly higher quality, as the whole setup of this place is quite upmarket. Could’ve done with the slice being hotter as well — not sure what was being done to it for the 10 minutes between me ordering it and it arriving at my table! Perfectly fine pizza but nothing to set the world on fire.
