This is a little gem at the heart of Greenwich. Tucked between the high street and the Greenwich park, this jazz bar is a good place to unwind during the week or spend lazy Saturday nights. If you are in the neighborhood and do not want the hassle travelling to the city, this is the place. Not much selection of the wine and other drinks i think, it’s a bit pricey too but that’s because u pay for the music. There’s no entrance fee. They have a schedule online so you can check in advance.

I don’t actually want to review this place because I don’t want too many people to see it for the biggest, selfish reason of all… tourists might find it. –Close to home –Cool music acts in here –Free pouring(measures) drinks –In a basement –Dark but not scary; although the furnishings are shabby –Has been enlarged & more rooms(crevices) for seating off the main music venue –There is a cover if you head to the main music room; no need if you sit in the other areas(you can still hear the tunes) You come here because it’s hidden away, open late night, good music, drinks and atmosphere. What they do need is better door control at a certain time of the night because recently I’ve seen some suspected under 21s in there. or perhaps they were of age, just damn immature. Minus a star for that! Still a very cool hideway!

The too main reasons that I like Oliver’s Music Bar so much are the laid back jazz music and the fact that due to its slightly hidden basement location it is rarely overcrowded and very relaxing. Furthermore the drinks are really reasonably priced and the staff is quite welcoming. Those four things make it one of my favourite bars in London. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

A nice private place that my wife and I visit when staying up in North Greenwich. Quirky, ute and quaint, as my wife puts it. Says she much rather be here than in the O2. Great stuff!

Did what most people do when they first try to get to Olivers and walked straight past it into a dead end. It does rather feel like Alice down the rabbit hole when you finally get downstairs — except without the bunnies and crazy queen, it’s actually full of delightful, friendly people that all seem to know each other and are very welcoming… awesome night out… next time must try to listen to the jazz…

Hidden away in Greenwich is this wonderful music venue /bar. Dark and cavernous, the place oozes understated style, and just by stepping in the door you can feel your cool-rating rise by a couple of notches. Saying that, it’s by no means a pretentious venue, and would be a great place for a date, or to go to with a close bunch of friends to relax over a bottle of wine and great live music.

Oliver’s is so easy to miss. It is just opposite Greenwich Theatre and next door to The Spread Eagle. The only evidence of its existence is an orange sign and an open gate inviting you down stairs. Once down there you enter a small basement bar with a few chairs and tables looking towards a tiny makeshift stage. There’s a certain charm about it, almost as if you have found your way into a secret club. Everyone sets out to have the best time possible and a close knit group of local artists organise music showcases. The usually small crowds here respect the music which is nice and this enhances most people’s enjoyment of the evenings. In my experience the music at Oliver’s isn’t that brilliant but it is still worth checking out and the artists usually enjoy a bit of light banter with the crowd. The bar area is based in a tiny room next to the performance area and when busy, this area gets very congested. It is also where the toilet is. For some reason people insist on standing there and so if you need to relieve yourself then leave yourself plenty of time to get to the loo.

One of Greenwich’s more quirky venue’s Oliver’s provides a great venue to relax and see live jazz. Oliver’s is one of Greenwich’s most hidden charms. Opposite Greenwich theatre the entrance to this bar is downstairs by the side of the Spread Eagle though many would be forgiven for not noticing it there. A perfect place to end a date and have a glass of wine in the evening. Try it if you get the chance!

you really have to look for this place– its on the left, in the alcove, mind those stairs! this is exactly the type of place ihave been searching for– yes, its a little pricey, you pay to listen to the band, but considering the quality of the bands that get in there, it really is a small price open till the early hours its a perfect little hideaway. The toilets are as small as you can get!- you have to go there just to take a look its very low a well, which adds to the charm of the place, very warm and friendly, its definately a good club and well worth a visit

What a strange little place! lovely but strange. If you don’t know its there then you aren’t going to find it easily. nice jazz bar, good drinks and a lovely atmosphere. Nice staff and the crowd is always nice in here. i don’t know if anyone else has ever experienced it but there has been a one off night where they have a comedian come in. But more of an open mic night where people get up and change around ect ect. The music here is great, if you like jazz, if not then i suggest this isn’t actually your type of place. It is very cosy in here and in all honesty good for a first date i think or newly together couples. Nice little places in here for a quiet romantic moment ;) Can stay open quite late but never rowdy as such. Not sure if this has become one of franks pubs now? or changed ownership in some form?

Hurrah! No one ever knows where this place is!(And it would stay that we if people didn’t review it on Qype — catch 22!) I love this bar. It’s not only the best late night bar in Greenwich, it might just be one of the best jazz bars in the whole of London. It’s got everything going for it. It looks like a jazz bar for a start. Now that might sounds silly, but how many bars do you see in London that have clearly just thought ‘let’s have some Jazz one night’. It never feels the same. Olivers is a jazz bar through and through. You have to go downstairs(for some reason I find this important) and it’s red and dark and a bit sleazy. It’s very intimate and wonderfully romantic, but you can also go here with a bunch of mates. The music they have is great. Really well chosen. Very chilled on a friday, more lively on a Saturday. Perfect. They’ve got a new lounge bar which doens’t feel like it’s just been ‘added on’ for the sake of it. They’ve really thought about it. They stay open til about 3, sometimes 4 and you can’t come here and not have fun. Though I do suggest that if you come here with anyone of the opposite sex, it might be too tempting to share a kiss in a sneaky little corner…

It’s quite a romantic place for late night drinks, looks like a piano bar actually. The place is located in a quiet corner of busy Greenwich and doesn’t really catch the eyes, after few visits I still walked pass the entrance every now and then. Oliver is not opened everyday so better call and check their business hours beforehand. Never seen it busy before. The place is quite spacious and has lots of interesting stuff to draw your attention. Nice music too.

Olivers is a seedy little Jazz bar, situated in the heart of Greenwich and ideal for those who want a late night drinking spot without venturing into Central London. The bar is unsophisticated to say the least; one ‘barman’ with some coke bottles, spirit optics and a fridge full of beers, but this all adds to its charm. The main room is low lit, with rawt iron tables and chairs and a New York Blues Bar feel to it. They almost always have live music on(usually Jazz) and its owner; Oliver can usually be found sharing a drink and a chat with customers. Closing time is when the last people leave and I would thoroughly recommend it to South Londoners who want to impress their friends with an ‘I know this little place’ bar that as a passer bye you would never know existed.
