It is quite formal for a café but the smoothies and pancakes with bacon are great!

Great coffee and pastries, but not so friendly staff. Used to visit this place at 9 o’clock sharp on a Sunday morning to grab freshly baked croissant and pain au chocolate. Both were always very good to go with the morning dose of caffein. I wish the people working there were a bit nicer.

I wanted to like this place, but it was not to be. The hard, high stools and tables a fashionable, but not really conducive to a relaxing afternoon with a newspaper or crossword. The background music was played at an unnecessarily high volume — enough that it was distracting. Finally, the lemon cake I had was dry and sort of flavorless and my «large» cappuccino was less-than generous. I won’t be rushing back.

Modern minimal interior. When this opened about 5 years ago it was a real blast of fresh good coffee onto Acre Lane. Not known for much other then builders merchants and linking Brixton to Clapham common. French run, it keeps a slight air of strangeness about it. Not to say it isn’t very well patronised by those about, and on the run elsewhere. High stools and tables and minimal menu keep this to what it’s meant to be: a coffee house. Cool music, odd signs, ply interior, great expresso. Oh la la c’est formidable

Yes, yum. Lovely people and lovely coffee and lovely atmosphere and just a nice place to sit and read the papers — out side if you can, inside the rest of the time… And not be bothered.

A really nice café on Acre Lane with a fantastic hot chocolate. A nice place to read the papers when the weather is dreadful outside! :)
