Otex

I have used a couple of moving companies in the past, some recommended by friends and other not. This time, due to the criticality of intricate timings of everything, we chose to go with a professional organization, Otex Removals, so that everything could run smoothly. We chose not the cheapest quote, but the one that gave us confidence that things could be done in a timely fashion.
We live in North East London and I was away in Kuala Lumpur at the time of the move while my partner was managing everything locally. The movers arrive three hours later than the originally agreed time and didn’t have the courtesy to inform us of their delay until they were already thirty minutes late.
I respect the fact that Otex was coming from the other side of London — but this should be planned for. They should not be bidding for work in North East London if they cannot account for the traffic — surely it was no different on our moving day than it normally is. By not informing us of their delay until past the originally agreed pick-​up time showed a complete lack of respect for our time.
The movers, although working very hard were careless with our goods and had a complete lack of understanding of the word ‘fragile’. The three individuals who moved our things also took very little care when unloading the items in our flat and we’ve had to spend additional time sorting the unloaded items!
Given the very late arrival of the movers and their lack of respect for our things we rate this company 1 star out of 5.
