My wife, myself and our 8-year-old daughter relocated from the United States and moved across the street. We had eaten dinner elsewhere and went over for desert. The owner/manager would not seat us UNLESS we ordered dinner. He was quite arrogant and defiant with his tone. In fact, his behavior scared our 8-year-old girl. His attitude was unacceptable. In fact, he should be ashamed of himself. If you have children, save them from the same potential experience.

We rented a house nearby while visiting London in June 2015. While on a walk I reviewed the menu and decided to bring the family for dinner. We had a wonderful visit. Great bread basket, which we refilled three times. Great olive oil for the bread. We, as Americans with some jet lag, ended up eating an early dinner around 6 pm. We talked extensively with the owner, who was about to take his annual trip back to Sicily. The soup was terrific. The two pasta dishes and two pizzas were superb. All of the ingredients were clearly fresh. He mentioned that the pasta was all made fresh in house. This was the best Italian meal we have eaten in some time. Fresh ingredients, superb seasoning, great wine, top notch service, and a nice environment.

Currently in a temporary location next to Myhotel Chelsea. I ventured in late in the evening whilst a guest in the hotel next door. The décor was somewhat bland however the service was wonderful. Except to read an Italian menu & be served by Italians. I had the vongole — I’ve had better and the tiramisu. It seems to be visited by a loyal regular crowd however overall I was underwhelmed — convenience is it’s best asset.

I like pelicans and I like Italian food, so this should have been a winner of a restaurant. But the problem was — no atmosphere! Don’t you hate that? Atmosphere will win me over every time, but I found none of it here. My meal here last night was a last resort. Nothing else seemed to be open on a Sunday for dinner, and all the good places were fully booked. The food, however, was pretty good. I had the pan-fried goat’s cheese and beetroot starter, and the scallops with spinach and ginger special. Both were beautifully plated and tasty. The poached pear and cinnamon syrup dessert was also quite nice. But I couldn’t fully enjoy it with an echoey room that just didn’t feel inviting or appealing…

Lovely Italian restaurant near the Kings Road; on the expensive side but this is Chelsea. The food is tasty, quite classic, and the wine list very adequate. Not my favourite Italian but definitely a good position on the B list. Nearly got 4 stars rather than 3 because the service was very pleasant.
