Pho 999

Came here as Tre Viet (our local and usual choice) was too busy to take our booking. Pho999 kindly accepted our booking for a large group of 17 and we were looking forward to some tasty Phở and Beef salads which came highly recommended.
We assumed as we were the only table in there when we arrived that we would be given the best service. Unfortunately when we sat down they were slow to provide us with drinks and we had to signal for our drinks orders to be taken. Our starters were then ordered and a little after our mains. As our starters began to turn up at different times it was almost acceptable given the size of our group. However by the main course they had over delivered a few dishes, we had to return at least 3 dishes and some of our orders were taken incorrectly and instead of steamed (as ordered) we received fried fish. Some of us had dishes but no rice while others sat with no food at all until we had all finished and they then bought out their dishes which were cold noodle dishes which didn’t require cooking! One of our guests cancelled her order completely and shared what we had already on the table as they had taken the wrong order and we were told we had to wait another 20 mins for it.
So slow orders, missed dishes, wrong dishes and some not at all. Not forgetting service without a smile and no compensation at the end! All in all a rather disappointing birthday dinner. To top it off an abusive drunk came in and had to be escorted out.
Safe to say we will not be returning or recommending.

Nothing like Vietnamese for Christmas Eve dinner! I was a little skeptical at first as it was one of the only restaurants open on Christmas Eve, but then I realised that the restaurant was full of people (and mostly full of Vietnamese people, which is often a good indicator of how authentic a restaurant is).
The food was excellent. The phở is great, so get a bowl, but there’s also a huge menu of other dishes (I mean pages and pages and pages and… you get the idea). It’s also very easy to share dishes, which we required since we had veggies and non-​veggies at the table.
