In dire need of someone to pound out the aches and pains shooting through the right side of my body like angry bees hopped up on White Lightning looking for their next ASBO, I booked myself in to the nearest physio for a full-​body massage.
— The clinic’s location was professional and convenient (for me).
— The cost was average for an hour-​long session in London.
— The therapist was friendly and competent.
But she simply wasn’t interested in the longer-​term health of my muscles.
Let’s call this as it is: I paid £65 for someone to strong-​arm my naked body, manipulating it to dull my muscular pain, albeit momentarily.
Sometimes, that’s what you’re looking for.
