With its family-friendly atmosphere, good staff and great food, Piccolo has quickly become our go-to favorite when friends are in town. Best pizza in Hampstead. Get there at 5:30 and it’s empty, but it’s packed by 7:00.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternon– really lovely pizza. Particularly innovative selection, I had the«Caruso» pizza which is a mozzarella pizza base topped with spaghetti, tomato, and basil. This is a great pizza for the indecisive! I loved the spaghetti and pizza combo. The only thing I would change would be to ask for some extra tomato sauce. My husband had the Dante pizza and really enjoyed it. Service was friendly and professional. Also very smart inside, fairly priced, and has a proper pizza oven. Will return.

Part of the Villa Bianca umbrella, Piccola still offers excellent service with a slightly more casual feel. The prices are pretty reasonable for freshly made sauces, I think if you’re in Hampstead, you owe it to yourself to go to the good local shops instead of the things you can find everywhere else around town. Great for a quick businessy lunch or a catch up. They won’t rush you so you can take all the time you need. I’ve tried a few of their pastas now, I have yet to be disappointed, though I’m a carbonara purist and don’t believe in using cream, I’ll let that one slide because English people seem to love doing that to carbonara and it might just be a matter of demand. I think I’ll make my way on to pizzas here soon, watch this space for updates! — Sidenote: Universe, if you’re listening, I would love a carbonara that is just egg, bacon and parm.(if any of you have found one in London like this, tell me… tell me now.)
