Terrible service. I rarely write bad reviews, but it’s a very awful experience. Firstly, Coffee delivered to the wrong table, ok not a big deal. Forgot the croissant I ordered, still not too bad. However, after I, very politely, asked a staff if she can clean our table, which was VERY dirty(sticky table and stains) after the last guests. She said: sorry we are very busy today, cannot clean your table. Are you serious? I just saw a staff clean the next 3 tables around us. So I said okay, thought she will come back later. But she never did. Food and coffee was very soso. Although it’s a cute shop, not going back again!

Pitfield is my local coffee shop as it is situated right outside my flat. I’ve been there once before and I remembered the coffee being decent. However after my visit today, I will no longer come back. The staff(especially the person taking my order) was unfriendly and even rude. After ordering my latte, I was questioned about the size of my coffee and when asked the difference between the sizes, he responded with a sigh and said«oh babe…»(coming off as an attempt to make me feel silly and stupid for asking such question). I found this extremely rude as the size of my latte was never asked during my order. He made me feel like I was at fault. That, in my opinion is not friendly customer service whatsoever. Not to mention, the coffee was not even hot. This wasn’t just my opinion as the customer ahead of me had made the same complaint.

A bit over priced for what you get, but great coffee and mandarin chocolate loaf is to die for!

I had a blueberry muffin and camomile tea(always good). I could tell the muffin had not been baked today. The place is cozy and has a nice vintage decoration. The experience was ok but I wouldn’t go back.

I’m amazed with some of these comments! I found the staff most friendly! There is a young French girl who was very kind to me and my family(even walked us down the block to point us in the right direction of our next stop). The food was lovely and reasonably priced. The blueberry muffin and merengue were great! I would go back if only I didn’t live in New York.

I feel I owe you all an update… While I was initially enamored with Pitfield, it was fleeting. I haven’t been back in over a year, and here is why: *the staff is not friendly. *the coffee is just bad. *the food is often lacking in quality/freshness. *the seating is not comfortable. *the shop stock never changes and overpriced. I love the idea of this place, but it falls down on execution. I don’t feel welcome here. It’s not a place I’d like to spend much time. I feel like I am inconveniencing the staff when I order. I went daily for many weeks and no one ever even acknowledged it. Like, really? I used to go very regularly because it was so convenient but then found myself seeking a local alternative and found much friendlier and higher quality outposts: Curious Yellow Kafe, Friends of Ours, Fix, Dirty Coffee, Slate… all within a few minutes walk. Why bother with mediocre when you can have someone friendly serve you a nice cup of coffee and lunch? Life is too short. I can’t see ever returning here. I gave so many chances, and unfortunately I’m over it. That lasagna though? It’s still really, really good I’m sure.

Café on one side, housewares shop of cute things that I can’t afford nor have space for but want all of… ahem. I’ve only had the café’s smoothies but they are tasty. Their housewares area is a mix of vintage and new things. Always love to sneak a peek even if nothing comes home with me. Nice space to meet with friends and have a coffee catch up.

I always find it very clever that some home furnishing stores carve out space for a coffee shop; or maybe it is the other way round, a coffee shop decides to sell cute stuff to its patrons. Whichever the case is, I really like the concept. Pitfield Café is one of those stores. Since it is my way to Yoga, I always stop by her after class to get an OJ and a pastry in the morning. They also have nice salads, hot pressed sandwiches and enticing cakes. The other side of the store is filled with couches, lamps, plates, and cushions etc. All very cute, but they are the kind more suited for gifts than something you would by for yourself. In my book, that means: beautiful, expensive and not practical. However, I love browsing here. You should check it out if you are nearby.

I walk past here every day, and I love looking through the window at the window display and the wonderful and quirky wares in the shop. If I have the free time, I absolutely love going in for a bite to eat followed by a careful peruse of the shop. This is food that you cannot feel guilty about eating. My favourite is the pastrami flat bread. I did once venture to get the red velvet cake which is exceptional, and comes in a very generous helping. The only thing that makes me sad is the price of things in the shop. Alas! I cannot buy much as I am a poor student, but if I had any sort of income, I think I would buy everything inside! It is definitely somewhere that I enjoy showing to people and will carry on recommending it for a long time to come.

One of those places you feel the need to tell people about just because it’s pretty quirky! It’s half an antique or home store and half a café restaurant. I had a flatbread and salad which were really rustic and scrummy. Apparently breakfast is pretty cheap here and lunch was reasonable. The pure smoothie was really gingery and fresh, felt very healthy. The thrift shop was full of gorgeous stuff I was dying to buy but just too pricey for it in my opinion. Great place for some cool gifts though! Overall worth a visit for a good coffee, cake or lunch.

Cute café-cum-shop-cum-gallery with a virtual ‘Only in Shoreditch’ sign on the door. Because let’s be honest, only in Shoreditch can coffee + vintage homeware + exhibition space = a really good time all under one roof. Look out for the slightly creepy long-haired troll collection in the window(remember the kids toys from the 90s?) and you’re in the right place. Turn right when you go in for cafeteria style tables and good coffee, where I waited for my mate to show up. Think this could easily become a people-watching spot of choice if I spent more time in the area. Turn left for vintage crockery, kooky furniture and a ton of hipster-friendly junk. It varies from the kind of glassware you’ve probably seen in your gran’s cupboard that no one ever uses, to arty statement pieces for your dream home. Have a good look — then go back to your coffee as it’s all pretty unaffordable. But you’ll enjoy a good rummage and a giggle nevertheless!(I recommend a flick through a book called ‘The 50 People You Meet In East London’). I was there with my eyewear blogger friend to check out a new vintage glasses range(and pretend to be more of an arty type than my cityish job usually allows which is always fun!). The specs were very cool and we got to chat to the designer who was hanging around. It fits with the summer-themed collection they’ve got on at the moment, including some metal sculptures on display at the back by a local artist. I quite like the idea of using this space as a showcase — it’s a nifty way to redecorate every few months anyway! We had a great time playing ‘who can find the most hideous piece of tat in the shop’ anyway — highly recommend it. Lots to see, lots to smile about — I’ll be back here to eat cake if I’m in the area :)

Afternoon time we went for a coffee. I wanted to go to this place since I moved to Hoxton. I though it was gonna be one of the best cups of coffee of my life, surrounded by art and cool people. And it was… ok. Not a big deal. Yeah, a lot of ‘cool’ people, but the coffee wasn’t so good(although I loved the crockery! Finnish design!) I have to admit the place is really cute and cosy, perfect to spend hours there talking or studying. I really like the fact you can have coffee while buying random hipster stuff, why not? :) The staff was OK, they were talking with themselves, kind of ignoring us. But it was fine, we got our coffee!

Yesterday afternoon I was really craving for a coffee after having woken up at 5:30 to go to work and since I always pass by the door of Pitfield and was curious to see inside, I decided to give it a try. The coffee was good but a bit overpriced and I have to say the spoon they gave me was so dirty I was disgusted by it, but they have the cutest and most beautiful crockery I have ever seen! I did not order any food as nothing was really appealing yesterday, but I might go back to try something soon. Apart from that, the place is very nice and quirky with all the vintage furniture they sell that it is worth to have a look at.

I love the café. There are Home Deco Shop inside as well. They are really looks nice. Food look Very nice. They serve various kind of Salad, Pies, Cakes.etc. I can say that are flash. My husband had a sandwich it has thick cheese and cappuccino. He loves Cappuccino but hardly say«Its good» however in this shop, he said«This is Good». I had vegetable Quiche and Soup. The quiche was very soft, and light taste. Soup was strong taste for me. Finally we had a desert as well. Apple crumble. It was so nice. so parts were crunchy texture, and others were very smooth.

Grab a seat in the front window and watch the world go by, as viewed through cupcakes and meringues. A sweet mix of quirky home décor and delicious lunch foods, with pastries spread throughout the café make this a comfortable place to spend your time(and money). After coming here for a while now, I’ve reached the point where the staff actually smile and joke with me, making this one of my top choices for my lunch break!

It’s impossible not to be charmed by Pitfield. Walk in here, give it a go. If you are not going, «Oooh» and then telling your friend later on, «So I had coffee in this funky shop that also sells antiques,» then check your heart and your brain, you may be dead. And therefore, probably didn’t need coffee in the first place. I was introduced to this spot by my boss who lives around the corner. It’s truly nice because there is always a seat here. Never standing room, never rushed, order your drink or your food and come and sit down at one of their pastel painted tables. Good choice of sandwiches at about £5 a pop and some nice home-made salads as well. And the coffees are strong and delicious. I’ve never ordered anything here I wasn’t satisfied with. Oh, and the coffee comes in old school teacups. What’s not to love about that? So I’ve done some browsing through the furniture/antique/thrift shoppy portion and while everything is beautifully laid out and lighted(none of this dank, dusty basement antique shopping here), it’s also incredibly overpriced. Nice to look at, never to buy. The service is also hit or miss. Sometimes they’re friendly, sometimes they almost sneer at you when you order. Boo to that baristas, coffee shops are friendly(your shop specifically is friendly), you be friendly too!

One day I decided to discover another way to get home, and I discover Pitfield Street and its café. I immediately fell in love with that café/cabinet of curiosities. Around the entrance, there are tons of fresh spring flowers and a very bucolic sign-bike. The very large shop front displays, on the right, fresh oranges, handmade cakes and breakfast, everything placed in very cute tableware; Behind the left shop front, you can find either art pieces from the current little exhibition or a mix of old-fashion crockery, fair trade, funny or design furniture and household. The girly decoration(pastel painted furniture, choice between balanced food or more caloric one, heterogeneous and colorful cups) finished to convince me to enter this café and to introduce it to a friend as soon as possible. What I did soon after and I was so happy with this place that I immediately applied as a waiter… and get the job! Starting on the next weekend, I was in charge of the sandwiches of all shapes and flavors. So now, I know all the sandwiches are fresh and handmade, and I know what it takes to look at food for hours without eating it — ah yes, I forgot to tell you: I resigned. And actually, it’s way more agreeable to wake up on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. instead of 6.30 and to eat the sandwich instead of cooking it! I have even a bigger pleasure to go there now, and really enjoy the big choice of tea and drinks, hand-cooked scrambled eggs, porridge, salads and hot dishes. The only little thing missing is the wifi, but that’s a good occasion to read a nice book instead of scrolling Facebook’s news feed! Now you just have to choose your side of the counter… as for me I made my choice!

Pitfield served me up a damned fine macchiato and a plateful of delicious salady things for £6.40. Pretty bargainous. My macchiato was served in an adorably kitsch teacup and saucer that you can, in fact, buy from the small showroom attached to the café if you want to. In addition to this teacup, the showroom is filled with fantastically whimsical homewares that you can buy at their requisite fantastically expensive prices.
