Just a tuck away from Old St station lies Piya Piya. The road seem quiet and wasn’t really busy when i went there. I came here for a friend’s birthday. There isn’t much privacy as its all glass window and it was really drafty when i went in. It doesn’t seem comfy but the seats were in booths so great for groups of friends. The only good thing about the place is that the food was good however and the pad thai was in big portions so i wasn’t complaining. there was no point of having a service charge because no one really checked up on us and when we wanted to ask for a bill, all staff were over the counter/bar not even busy and didn’t even have the decency to check if we wanted to pay or not so we had to go to them and pay the bill which i think was ridiculous. i probably only go here for takeaway purposes and not for a dinner out with friends or a loved one. i was surprised that the food was good seeing that they didnt have thai chefs and the staff was all from different culture backgrounds. and what was more weird was that the music was from indian inffluences so i didn’t get that. however i think the décor was pretty modern :)
