Order«Da Morire Romana» or «Pizza to Die For». They had a contest and this was the winning recipe… it was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The staff at the Blackheath location were incredibly nice. Our server was so great. Da Morire Romana Gorgonzola D.O.P, mozzarella, caramelised leeks, artichoke, crispy pancetta, rosemary, chilli oil I would not recommend the Calamari. It was oddly thick and shaped like a French Fry which was strange…

I had a salad with a really good vinaigrette. Friends had pasta. I don’t think anyone got pizza. The place is nice and the staff was friendly. There isn’t too much more to say about this place. Would I travel across the Atlantic to come here again, probably not.

Pizza Express has taken on a new lease of life for me since the introduction of their childrens menu, what a great idea! Rather than having a toddler ploughing their way through a huge portion of dough balls give them 4 and hopefully they’ll manage a bit of pizza and some of the little side salad! Anyway having tried many Pizza Express’ in my time I do think that the one in Blackheath is the best, it seems quieter than most(though it’s nearly always busy) and they have good chefs who bring the food out quickly. They’re also very helpful with fussy orderers like myself! I have to recommend the Bosca salad if you aren’t in the mood for a pizza(my top tip is order the dressings on the side though as they tend to put too much balsamic syrup on)
