I used to got to Pizza Express quite a lot. Then, I suddenly felt flat whenever I went. This particular branch went through a phase that most seem to go through, and suddenly it seemed tired and dated. I came back to the Notting Hill branch last week after having an enjoyable a reasonably priced evening at the Great Portland St branch a few weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh it seemed. The service was efficient and pleasant. I looked online to see what offers they had. It was great to see that they were doing a main and drink for £10. Great deal. On handing the voucher over before ordering though, I was made to feel as though I was planning to pay with counterfeit notes. The waiter looked at me suspiciously and really studied the small print before he would take the order. I had a very pleasant American Hot pizza, whashed down with a cold fresh bottle of Perone. I liked thae fact that the tables were crammed together so you could hold a conversation without sharing it with your neighbours. With such good online voucher deals, I’ll probably go to Pizza Express on a more regular basis. I just wish that the staff were fully briefed about what deals the company are offering to their customers to avoid any uncomfortable encounters.

Visited this branch recently for the first for an early evening meal, it’s a big restaurant and we sat at the window. It’s sometimes surprising how varied the quality of service can be from one branch to another. The service was slow and we kept having to remind staff that we hade ordered water and then drinks, cutlery was dirty. There were only 5 – 6 tables of other customers so not busy. Decided not to leave a tip, last time went to Baker Street a difference.

A simple affair. Nice interior, clean and fairly modern(like most Pizza Express locations). The pizza is pretty decent and priced averagely. Pleasant and fairly effective staff. You know what you’ll get with PE.

Nice, clean chain restaurant. Had Salami Calzone there last week highly recommended if your kids only eat pizza on the family day out and you can’t eat that stuff anymore due to saturation. Good and polite service. Overall I am pleased.

Whenever we have something to celebrate, we go to Pizza Express. It’s the family’s favourite pizza restaurant and it’s fairly close to ours: D The place is big and always packed. But never fear, your trusty Pizza Express staff will always get you seated within a couple of minutes. For starters I suggest try the dough balls with garlicky butter. Yum, yum yum. The pizza is fresh, delicious and theres something for everybody. Same goes for the desserts– incredibly lush served with your choice of ice cream, cream or mascarpone. They have a a kiddie menu as well called«piccolo menu». I totally recommend it if you find yourself in Notting Hill and in need of a good pizza.

When we came in, it was PACKED but we were still seated right away. The selection of pizza is pretty good; especially compared to the pizza places back home in Vegas. There’s something for everyone. My mom and I weren’t too hungry so we couldn’t each get one but we were undecided on exactly what we wanted, so we got the Four Seasons and some dough balls to start. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted really good. I’m used to pizza back home being either drenched in oil or flavourless. We also split the«snow balls» which were awesome. The service was great and fast even though the restaurant was super crowded. I would totally come back here for a good pizza fix; especially since it’s so close to the tube station.

I was pleased with this Pizza Express as it is modern and well layed out. I went there with a large party and as we were unable to book, we were not necessarily guaranteed a table, the staff however, were helpful and we managed to get a large table by the window. The setting in this part of Notting Hill is not the best but the large windows and pleasant lighting help the restaurant to seem special and expensive even theough the food is modistly priced.

For an Italian restaurant in London I would say its okay. The food is not as good as other Italian restaurants in the area and the customer service is not the best either. I went in on a not so busy day, but still the food was fairly slow to arrive and the waiters did not come round much, and I twice had to go to the till, to ask them for some drinks. Compared to Zizzi down the road, it is a poor option. ASK is expensive, and the food is not really worth it. Drinks are also quite expensive. Only good thing to not is its proximity to Notting Hill Gate tube station and the Coronet cinema. Overall: Not impressed!

I have been fairly loyal to Pizza Express for more than 20 years, usually opting for their Veneziana pizza in the vain hope that my 25p towards the Venice Fund will help the Italian city from disappearing into the ocean. Quality varies greatly from branch to branch. Yesterday’s visit to the Notting Hill outlet was particularly disappointing. We went for the newly introduced option of a a thinner crispier base. Admittedly the pizza was slightly bigger but with the same amount of toppings just spread more thinly(how do they justify the 1.50 surcharge?). The base was tough rather than crisp and impossible to cut with the notoriously blunt knives! Pizza meals at chain restaurants are not a great night out at any rate, but this acceptable form of fast food should at least be tasty. The restaurant was heaving — it seems we weren’t the only ones drawn in by a 2 for 1 offer

Meh. Yeah it’s pizza but not really, right? A little too much fennel and mange tout on the menu for my liking. Not the place to go for a full-on pizza experience but I have to admit, it does what it says on the tin and you do get reasonable food at a very reasonable price. Even a bottle of drinkable red wine is priced fairly. Good on them for having a consistent product at an accessible price butI still miss pizza.
