I actually quite like pizza express’ pizzas, but what lets these restaurants down tends to be the general atmosphere, and this particular restaurant falls down here too. It begins promisingly, a nice sofa area in the main window where you can enjoy a drink and wait for friends before being seated. It is however on moving to the tables that things go a little awry. The layout is such that most of the tables are located in small sections of the restaurant, with one to three tables in each little section. While this should make for a cosy atmosphere, each time I have visited, it has been quite cold, and with the bright lighting, a bit austere feeling. The segregation of tables also makes it very difficult to attract the attention of the staff, and you may find yourself going to look for them. The pizzas are to the usual pizza express quality, and there is nothing wrong there particularly other than possible overexposure leading to boredom, and that I find the pizzas a little on the small side.
