Stressful encounter with staff at this salon. Walked in enquiring about head and neck massage for tension headache. Long circular discussion about how this was not possible, encluding the staff telling me ‘you do not know what you are talking about’ when trying to tell them what I wanted. The shop was empty at this time, and the two women arguing with me made me wonder if they actually needed any customers given the way they were acting. Eventually agreed to 30 min massage which did concentrate on head and neck. Made me wonder why the long argument when the type of massage I wanted was entirely possible. £30 for 30 mins was poor value for money. The staff are inflexible in what they are willing to do — it has to be EXACTLY what they say. Walked out feeling worse than when I walked in Never going back there which is a shame as I live so close. Would advise to avoid as the staff are so unwelcoming and argumentative.

I have Hobbit feet. My big toes are said to be evoking images of hammerhead sharks. And to make matters worse, my toe nails have a weird shape. In short: I’m self-conscious about my feet. Needless to say, when I walked into the nail salon, I felt much like Marie Antoinette must have felt when she walked towards the guillotine: dreadful! But let me tell you: it all turned out to be quite wonderful and not only did I survive, but I left the studio with feelings of elation and even accomplishment. Aside from my «toe-steem» issues, going to the nail salon is not necessarily a very manly thing to do and so when I walked into Posh Fox Nail, I could feel my heart beating quicker ever so slightly. But the ladies here were totally nonchalant about me being a man and treated me as any other customer.(Apart from the hand motion to the nail polishers, which seems to be hard-wired.) Jessica, the lovely lady who attended to my feet and hand, did a great job. Granted, I’m not an avid«pedicurer», but I can say that I felt very much well-taken care of in her hands — literally: we started off with my feet and this being a new & exciting procedure, I couldn’t take my eyes off how she was scraping off the dead cuticles. All in all, I’m very happy with my visit here at Posh Fox Nail. It was a well-spent £29, I thought. I was especially impressed with the high hygienic standards that they employed here. I’ve heard horror stories about dirty bath water etc, but here they were really paying attention to keep everything very tidy. Also, I thought it was a very nice idea to keep the buffer and nail file in a separate plastic bag with your name on it — so that next time they could use the same ones on you again.(Nifty idea of customer retention service!) The whole procedure lasted almost 1.5 hours, which I actually hadn’t planned for, and so when we were done, I had to rush back to my Hobbit home in the Highgate Hills in order to prepare dinner for the other Hobbit…
