Poundland

In this worrying period of credit crunch and impending recession this is one place id definitely recommend for everyone watching their pennies and pounds, The Poundland stores have been going for years, and very successfully, but i think they have really come into their own in the last year or so. This particular branch is excellent — a bright simple shop front, relatively clean and welcoming inside — though the floor could perhaps be swept a bit more often — and loads of stuff to peruse at simple prices (ie a pound!). They have an ever changing stock of cheap books, dvds, electrical gadgets, toys etc as well as everyday staple items such as cleaning products, binbags, toiletries etc that compare very well with the price of the same branded items in the major supermarkets. I wouldnt say the service is anything special but the checkout staff are very efficient in scanning your items and bagging them up, and at these prices who would complain about service? One shop to certainly keep in mind.
