No complaints about this place. If you are from the United States don’t think this is your typical deli. Most everything is pre-made, you just grab it from the aisle and pay. The awesome thing about this is the quality of the food. EVERYTHING we ate was fantastic, especially the soups. We were in London for a week and probably ate here 5 times, it’s just so convenient when you want to spend most of your time sightseeing.

I came here for a bite of a pre-show snack around 7pm. I understand how everything is made fresh daily so they cannot have a constant supply of all of their food, but I was a bit disappointed that their selection of salads was very diminished. I got the Italian salad with the carrot juice. The salad was pretty good but had a tad too much mayonnaise on it from the chicken so I probably would not get it again. The staff and environment was consistent with every other Pret.

Great healthy quick option. If you can’t find a Pret A Manger in London you need to see an eye doctor ASAP because they are everywhere!!! 10 years ago you had to duck into a smoky pub for bangers and mash and mushy peas… now you can get an inexpensive(for London) healthy sandwich(mmm coronation chicken) or salad on your way to the next Museum. If it’s a nice day grab it to go and eat it in a square! They have different pricing for take out vs eat in. There is one right by Trafalgar’s on the side near the National Portrait Gallery and St. Martin’s. They also have some of the most delicious candy bars that look just healthy enough you don’t feel too guilty, and coffee!

My friend and I could not believe we didn’t discover Pret A Manger until our last night in town. We were sooo hungry, and had seriously less than 5pounds left because we pretty much spent almost all of our money on alcohol and didn’t want to exchange more cash. So finding Pret A Manger and eating their delicious and simple sandwiches made our drunken state that much better. We really thought we’d be more likely to run into Prince Harry than find cheap and healthy food in London.

Pret A Manger’s are absolutely everywhere in London and probably is the most populated chain I have ever seen in a city. They are a great option for affordable, quick and healthy food. There are so many choices of places to eat in London so it’s nice to have a great option like this as a default option. I wish we had the chain in San Diego, but there aren’t many US locations. Hopefully it will spread out to the west coast of California someday. I usually try to avoid the chain restaurants but it was nice to try a mainly British chain especially since it was so good. They have tons of fresh sandwiches, wraps for anytime of the day. They also have fresh fruit and coffee. Yes the fruit is overpriced but it’s convenient. The food in general is very reasonable in an expensive city like London. They also have amazing fruit/nut bars and also a caramel, vanilla and pumpkin one which was amazing. If you want a healthy quick option anytime during the day just look around the corner because I guarantee there will be a Pret within a 100 meters or so.

I’m confused as to why this chain is growing in popularity for the things they serve. All the food is ridiculously overpriced and the few times I got stuff here, I’ve left starving. For sandwiches and/or salads, I’d much rather head to the local supermarket and make my own for a fraction of the cost.

Love the place. Conveniently located at the Trafalgar Square. I was out from National Gallery at 9:00PM on Friday night and found this place on my way back to the Tube. I brought my first London meal back to my hotel from there and it was truly yummy. There’re a lot of choices in London. For something fast and affordable, it’s a good choice and it’s everywhere. It seems very popular for local. Interesting to see that food has two prices for eating in the restaurant and take out. I like the concept. Got this from its napkin: «Our kitchens are brimming with new ingredients like fresh dill, spring onions and French quinoa. We’ve used vibrant red salanova, apollo, and spinach leaves to perfect our salads so they fill you up, not slow you down. Spring is in the air. Be bright. Be breezy.»

Dude. Their vegetarian holiday sandwich. Seriously phenomenal. I tracked down their locations in Paris once I returned.

You all know that Pret a Manger is owned by McDonald’s right? I really didn’t want to like Pret a Manger because it represents everything that I don’t like about Britain at the moment. It’s a megacorporate globalization of traditional British favorites made super cheap and marketed as «healthy» and«fresh». But the thing is — it’s good stuff. At breakfast they have really lovely warm pastries(not so nice tea however) and if you are feeling cheap for dinner you can pick up a nice sandwich for a few pounds. My favorite was the old cheddar and pickle sandwich but my wife tried a langostine with rocket sandwich that she didn’t care for. My advice is to stick with the basics and if you want something a little more adventurous and don’t mind paying slightly more you can always head next door to the Marks & Spenser.

#546 Before my Golden Tours day trip this past Thursday, I had about an hour and a half to kill. So, I settled into this Pret a Manger for a quick bite and some light reading(Free Lunch by David Smith). One thing that grew on me right away was how friendly all of the employees were. Maybe it was the fact that their shifts had only just started, but everyone was all smiles and cheerful greetings when I walked in. The manager was also making the rounds and chumming it up with his employees. It all came together to create such a warm atmosphere. I felt completely comfortable finding a nice spot to settle in and read. In terms of food, I grabbed a Scottish Smoked Salmon sandwich for £2.99 and it was delicious. I was surprised at how much smoked salmon that was packed in between the slices. I also went for a Strawberry Smoothie for £1.99. It was a bit expensive for the quantity that was given, but it was plenty delicious regardless. I also ended up picking up a Wild Crayfish and Rocket sandwich for £3.25, as well as another Scottish Smoked Salmon, to take with me on the day trip. Both of them stood against the test of time fairly well by the time I consumed them about 4 hours later. I definitely enjoyed the hour that I spent here, reading and eating cheap yet deliciously healthy food. Next time I find myself in the area and in need of a pick-me-up, I’m totally dropping by.

I didn’t realize how good their food was. Ok when I say food I mean the one sandwich that I ate but still! The rest of the options looked very delicious. And reasonably priced too. Their capp was a bit on the weaker side for me in terms of flavor but still enjoyable and hot for the cold winter morning. This one is in a fairly touristy, busy neighborhood so we were very lucky to grab a seat just in time, albeit a dirty one. But the staff was friendly and we didn’t feel rushed to leave and make room for others. The one thing I didn’t enjoy was the yogurt with fruit at the bottom and granola on top. The fruit was sour and the yogurt wasn’t sweetened so it was just not tasty for me. But this is the place to go if you need a quick, light breakfast before your touring for the day.

This is my default choice for coffee and, often, breakfast or lunch while in the Covent Garden area. Summary based on many visits: –good alternative to pricey hotel breakfasts –friendly service, even when rushed –good variety, including many vegetarian options –usually easy to get a seat

I was wandering outside near the hotel when hunger struck. This was one of my first days out and about in London. There’s this stereotype that food in London is disgusting and unhealthy. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! I needed a quick snack. I needed to refuel before I pounded the streets to check out the not so beaten path. Pret A Manger caught my eye. You can have a fresh cup of java or pick out healthful and organic treats that line the shelves. Oh my gawd, I felt like I was transported back to Cali with all of this healthful goodness. I was able to buy wheat-free salmon & egg sandwich on rye bread(100% rye). There was dessert too — amazing wheat free orange cake! The no bread wild crayfish & avocado salad was filling and packed with nutrition. Brits are clearly more allergy friendly than Americans. I knew that only good eats would be waiting for me while I explored London.
