This place is a small lunch/dinner place that’s pretty tasty and inexpensive. I found it on the Time Out’s best cheap eats list. I got the large rice bowl with all the salads for under £7– which for the location is quite a bargain. There was hardly a line when I got there and the girls working were really friendly. I stayed for about an hour and a half to work on my computer(free wifi). Overall I give this place 5 stars for their food, free wifi, prices, and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I was standing between two of my favorite takeaway places, Grab Thai and Banh Mi Bay, when I noticed this place across the street. It turns out that I wandered through the back entrance, and I walked through the cute, compact restaurant to get to main entrance is on the other side. Anyway, the concept is pretty straightforward — there is pulled pork, beef, chicken, and some vegetarian option, and you can have it in a wrap, baguette, or bun, or with salad or rice. The first three sounded like they could be a drippy mess, so I went with some brown rice. I got a mix of beef and pork, and a mix of the chipotle and BBQ sauce. Then you have a choice of some salads, with lettuce, red cabbage, and tomatoes, among others. I’m not a big fan of when they just pile salad on top, like they also do at Chao Now — I don’t feel like it really goes with the meal and would be better off separate. But overall it is a hearty meal, with great flavors and plenty of room to suit every taste. I think I will come back to try the meat in a bun for eat-in, but otherwise I see this as a solid lunch option but not one of the my rotating favorites.

A cool new lunch offering to join the City line-up, their specialist subject being slow-cooked meat. The place is friendly, something different, and a little confusing to start with — but hopefully I can help you with that! Firstly, their site goes right the way through Queen Victoria Street and so has two entrances, the second from Cannon Street. Luckily I had a colleague leading the way as I thought we’d walked into someone’s dining room through the first entrance. It’s lovely and open once you get round to the serving area though, with cute signs telling you ‘how to pull’… I was grateful for a bit of a queue at this point as they have oodles of choice — you can customise your meat however you like. I went for pulled pork(they also have beef or chicken) on a wrap, because it seemed like you’d get the most generous portion of meat that way. I was right — and couldn’t actually finish it! They also do baguettes(more manageable though you got less pork that way), brioche buns, salad or rice as a base. Teamed with sauce(s) of your choice and plenty of salad and guac, and assembled by some of the friendliest lunch servers in the area I reckon — mostly because they didn’t bat an eyelid at newbies like myself umming and ahhing over every decision they asked me to make! I somehow managed to resist the desserts on display next to the till(cinnamon donuts ahoy!) and a good job too, as the wrap turned out to be huge. The pork was nicely tender and went well with the bbq sauce, and very reasonably priced for the size too. This isn’t the lightest lunch option by a long way(as my afternoon food coma confirmed) so perhaps one for a Thurs/Fri next time, and I also need to go back to investigate the breakfast offering!
