To get to my room, it was walk through a narrow hall, go up and down some steps with head ducked, and then into the hotter than hades room with a lovely view of the alley(actually a street that looks like an alley). I checked in and walked right back down with all intention of checking right back out but the staff worked with me to find a larger room(still small– but i could live with it). Everything is miniature here… which is not uncommon in the UK. The standard room is about 2 feet larger than the bed on 3 sides… i kid you not. If you have some bags good luck. Hallways narrow, elevator the size of a suitcase. Stylish, clean, helpful staff… excellent location smack dab in the middle of seven dials with shopping, close to covenant garden etc. Lobby reeks of bad perfume in the evening(not sure why). Rooms… claustrophobic-ly small. Def not my first choice in London, but a decent alternate given the location. Be careful, can be very pricey depending on when you book.

Good, well run hotel. Excellent location. Easy to get to from airport– straight off Piccadilly line on tube.

First time staying at the hotel. 1st the positives! It’s very modern and, for the most part, is very nicely decorated,(I personally don’t think much to the weird pictures of women in my room and around the hotel) and the staff seem very nice. The amenities in the room are of a high quality and all your basic things are there. The tv hooked up to a Mac mini is a nice touch. The negatives! My real main gripe is the bed. It is honestly like sleeping on a rock. It is ridiculously hard and I find it very very uncomfortable. The fan in the bathroom is controlled by the hotel and can not manually be switched off — not a huge problem but it is very loud, so not really what you want to hear at 1am. The towels and the bathrobes are really rough — the could do with a hell of a lot of fabric softener as they are really not very nice feeling. And finally, very minor(especially if you bring your own), but the shampoo and body wash in the shower is really hard to get out and only dispenses a very small amount at a time.

What a fantastic experience from the moment I checked in to the moment I left the hotel. Radisson’s efforts to spruce up already existing hotels and add it to its family of hotels paid off in what feels like a deluxe hotel without the price tag. For around £140 after taxes and fees($ 220 +/-) a night, the hotel offers a deliciously comfortable bed in a spacious room(equipped with a large HDTV and AppleTV), sexy shag lighting, a well equipped bathroom with great shower products, a bathrobe in which to lounge around, a business center with free printing, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, complimentary papers and Time Out London AND a sumptuous breakfast. Yes… all of this is included. After a long weekend of traveling between New York City, Paris and then finally London… the hotel room was the perfect place to relax and unwind. It really was like heaven. Located close to Covent Garden market, plenty of stores and shops, most theatres, the Tube and several pubs and restaurants… this place was exactly what you would want in a hotel in London. The service was also impeccable. I felt welcomed from the second I checked in. Next time I’m in London, I can’t imagine wanting to stay anywhere else that is so perfect for the price.

Polite and effective service. The room was very nice and used the limited space efficiently. Bathroom was of very high standard as was the bed and TV. Breakfast is good but not ideal value for money at 23 £. The gym is a nice addition as is the lovely decorated and cosy bar. The only annoying thing was the overly warm temperature in the room– although the AC did manage this eventually.

The hotel has now changed names to the Radisson Edwardian Mercer Street Hotel. It has an excellent location just by Seven Dials. It is easy walking distance from Covent Garden tube station and it is truly a great location if visiting London as a tourist. Arriving very early in the morning my room was not ready yet but reception staff were happy to take care of my bag while getting the room ready. They said they needed a while to get it ready so just wandered around the corner for some great coffee at Monmouth Coffee and then when I was back the room was ready so great service from the start. That was consistent throughout the stay, every single employee was very service minded without being intrusive. The room looked great. I liked the design and it appeared to have been recently refurbished. It was also surprisingly large, to be a central London hotel at least. The room had everything that I expect from a hotel of this quality. The standard things like TV(actually slightly better than in most hotels, liked the easy to use system), mini-bar, iron, coffee/tea, safe etc. were of course available. They also offer free wifi throughout the hotel. What also deserves a mentioning here is the fact that they actually provide an iron working well — most hotels have pretty cheap irons that barely function. This was actually really good. The bed was very comfortable and I did really sleep well. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but sufficient. It was still big enough for a bathtub and everything was clean. The only ‘issue’ I had with the room was the lack of a proper desk. The round glass table was not suitable do work at so from that perspective I would be a bit hesitant to stay many nights if on business as it would be difficult to work in the room. There is of course the business center but I often prefer working in the room. All together a very pleasant experience in a hotel with nice rooms, friendly staff and excellent location. Will most likely be back.

Great hotel, Great Service, FREEHIGHSPEEDWIFI which is the impossible to get anywhere in the most expensive city in the world. Close to theatres, GOOD retail shopping, mens clothing, skater shops, art retailers, central to most everything else. Lighting in the room is pretty cool has a shag light. but the bed is way down on the floor for us tall people its hard to get down that low to sleep.

Small rooms that overheat quickly. I stayed here quite a few times– not out of choice(the choice is the Covent Garden Hotel next door). It is centrally located and convenient for Soho and Covent Garden, but it is the sort of pace that is always disappointing in London, over promising, over priced and under delivering. Not poor as such just disappointing.

I have stayed here several times while on business and while on pleasure. The location is fabulous as it is near the West End theatres and Covent Garden, convenient to three tube stations and a couple of blocks from the pubs and shops of Neal’s Yard. I recommend their breakfast in the downstairs restaurant. I’ll continue to stay here as long as the exchange rate is favorable to the US Dollar.

I had the privilege of staying here for work purposese and it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I wish I’d stayed longer than the 3 nights I did, as there were lots of facilities to explore. I had a single room, but the bed was enormous with a great variety of pillows and the softest, furriest throw I have ever felt. I’ve never felt more tempted to steal anything in my life! I had a TV which the hotel left message for me on, 2 phones — in case I couldn’t be bothered to move from my bed/desk to the other one, and a funky wardrobe that lit up when I opened it. The heating was easy to control, which is always important for me as I am a very cold sleeper. The ensuite bathroom was lovely but covered in mirrors, which made it a bit awkward going to the toilet and not knowing where to look! It also felt a little bit squashed, but it did have speakers and a volume control for the radio and TV so I could listen while I showered. The staff were all very helpful and the bar seemed to be a really popular place on a midweek evening. There’s a fitness suite as well, but I didn’t get a chance to try it. So why not 5 stars from me? Firstly, my phone bill: £14 for a 6 minute UK landline conversation is extortionate. Secondly, the lifts: they seem to have a life of their own and you need a card to operate them. I travelled all the way up and all the way down so many times! Finally, the noise: it was quite noisy in the streets outside at night, although that’s hardly the hotel’s fault. Conclusion: A great place if you’re thinking of a night out at the theatre — they’ve thought of everything you could need, but be prepared to pay the price.
