I have read the reviews on Unilocal before trying this restaurant myself and was everything but impressed. I had take away, chicken cashew nuts and sirloin steak with some sort of brown sauce. The chicken was very dry and tasteless, my beef came with that horrible brown sauce that mixed with the boiled rice began smelling something rotten or very old. For what I could see the restaurant inside is pretty decent and the service(for the take away) was nice and efficient.

Great thai food but since recent price increases a little expensive for a local takeaway

I have eaten at Ratchada half a dozen times over the past five years and every meal has been excellent. Having visited Thailand, I really got a taste for authentic Thai food and Ratchada doesn’t disappoint: every dish served up to me has been delicious and also beautifully presented(something you miss if you go for the take-away option, I guess — the restaurant also does good take-away business)! There is plenty of choice if you are vegetarian too(like my other half), and even my fussy eater 12yo daughter has been pleased with the choice of dishes. Try some spring rolls, followed by Pad Thai, washed down with a Singha beer or two, and you will leave with a smile on your face. The restaurant is relatively small, so it is advisable to book a table at busy times, and try to sit away from the door as it can get chilly on a winter’s evening as people come and go(both diners and take-away patrons).

Had takeaway from this restaurant and it is by far the best Thai food I’ve eaten. Even the prawn crackers here are something special. Each of the dishes we ordered had a very distinct flavour that excited the whole mouth. Inside the restaurant it is fairly basic, almost café style, and it appears that most people were opting for takeaway.

Great service, good value & an extensive menu. Larger premises might be an idea(can they afford to occupy the currently empty Old Tigers Head just down the road?) but otherwise a guaranteed good experience in the Blackheath/Lee Green neck of the woods.

If you love Thai food, then make sure you visit this place if you’re in the area. A fabulously sumptuous menu of traditional and contemporary Tai cuisine. Great for lunches or evening meals, though it is closed between 2 and 7 and is closed one day a week, so check times. Although meals are great whatever time of day, I would suggest going at busier times to avoid being watched by over-attentive waitresses and chefs, especially if using chop sticks makes you look like you’ve lost all co-ordination! Great for vegetarians and they will accommodate allergy sufferers. Not the best venue for large parties as it’s a small restaurant. Good value for money though.
