This is my new favourite Chinese in London. The food is really excellent and great value, especially as the meat they use is much better than most takeaways. The very friendly owner simply makes food that she thinks you will really enjoy and she is very respectful and attentive. It’s £7.70 if you eat in and £5 for a takeaway box from the Buffet. A bit of a time warp, but if you like Chinese the Regent is for you.

For what it is, it’s good — but not a gourmet experience, and definitely not a «destination» by any stretch of the imagination. Good, cheap, tasty food. A good choice too, not just Chinese but also Thai curry, satay, teriyaki chicken and some other Asian dishes in addition to the Anglo-Canto staples of crispy lamb, sweet and sour chicken and pork, black bean beef and similar — all tasty and of decent quality(meat cuts are nothing special, but perfectly acceptable). In short, does what it says on the board outside! Cheap eats, decent enough food and no waiting on service. If that’s what you’re looking for, it does the job very well indeed!

All you can eat, real meat, £6.50. Huge variety of dishes, and is capable of being my downfall when I’m meant to be either saving money or on a diet. Service is unobtrusive, drinks aren’t over-priced, nor is the food over-salted(which are two of the tricks AYCE places pull to get you to spend more). I usually come in the early evening, and the turnover means that sometimes the food isn’t as fresh as it might be. Lunch time or later evening is another story when it’s bustling and everything appears quickly. Special mention goes to the crispy lamb — worth the detour for :) Surcharge on credit cards under £10.
