Retro Man is a vintage clothing, shoes and accessories shop in Notting Hill Gate; between Portobello Road Market and the tube station. In the shop they sell high quality designer clothes from the fashionable decades. They have a wide range of suits and places. In the neighbouring, partner shop the sell accessories such as vintage watches, cuff links and even opera glasses. Like Chuks O. mentioned in his review whilst the level of quality is high it is just a bit too expensive.

Retro Man boasts a full selection of retro(obviously) clothing from about 50’s/60’s to mid 80’s! This shop is quite close to Notting Hill Gate Station about a two minute walk at max. You’ve got a wide range of tees, hoodies, cardigans, leather jackets sweaters, and few shoes to choose from. Even the music they play in there is old school. Its all well and nice until you look at their price tag, and ITISREALLYGOODQUALITY! Practically never worn some bits; they still sport the price tag and label from their respective era. But I just don’t feel comfortable buying vintage or retro goods at the price I could buy brand new clothing, but don’t be dismayed this shop will sell you some piece of time you probably would spend weeks trying to find elsewhere. Oh yeah and there’s Retro Woman two doors down as well.

This vintage clothes shop has to take the proverbial biscuit as the seediest dress agency in North Kensington. You can enter either as a buyer or a seller-either way expect to get ripped off. If you are buyer you will be gob-smacked at the condition of the clothes, many of which look very, very charity shop. Sellers may be attracted by the large notice on the windows-«Any clothes bought in any condition! This is a scam to get hard– up members of the public to go to the trouble of bringing in stock. If Retrowoman don’t like something(which is more often the case than not) they will offer you the amazing total of one penny. This may be strictly legal, but it doesn’t seem particularly fair or moral. It is also rather a waste of time for the seller. You may be wondering why I have bothered to review Retrorama in the first place. Well… I once found a fabulous suede jacket there which made me look like a million dollars, and I always go back there in case of a second miracle, because you never know… I also like exposing scams.
