Always a standby in Westfield, but getting worse every time. Lazy cooking means raw potato that does not absorb the sauces. Lazy serving means food slopped on the tray and hard rice that has sat in a mould for a while. Massaman curry was average at best.

This was my first time trying out a Rosa’s and I wasn’t aware of how many there were! It always seems the quietest of the mid-range spots in Westfield, so it has flown beneath my radar for a while. I was in the mood for Thai though, and while I don’t always love the lemon-grass flavour in curries, it’s hard to go wrong with flat noodles with veggies, egg and tofu. I was hoping that they’d be ‘drunken’ style which are hugely wide, but these were more like tagliatelli. The flavour was great, mild and a little sweet. They did charge a £1 for a takeaway box which I thought was a bit unnecessary.(I know I tend to eat smaller portions than normal though, so the average person probably wouldn’t have much left to take away). I do like my tofu to be a little less ‘empty’ than the deep fried pieces in my food here, so I think it’s a 4star place overall. I will go back to try some other noodle dishes though, and will update my review when I do!

Thai food store that doesn’t look very Thai. We had a Chicken Pad See Eww, it had a fairly strong soya source taste, which I quite like but personally I don’t think it was very thai As a food court, lots of things are pre-cooked, and especially the chicken, it just wasn’t stir fired enough so it was kinda tasteless. Poor chicken died in vain… Pretty pricy for a food court and for what you get.

Always wary of food halls in large shopping centres as standards are not that good, again, I was not wrong. But it was lunch time and we needed a quick lunch, so thought give it another chance. Chose Rosa’s as had good experience at the Soho branch. But what a disappointment. Small portions, hardly any noodles in the Laksa noodle which was not that good and hardly any noodles in the Pad Thai, although the five large prawns were large and very fresh, there were no other vegetables except a few strands of bean sprouts. It’s like they ran out of ingredients. The summer rolls had no meat or prawns, just vegetables, and fell apart when touched. £15 for a shoddy meal, without drinks, is definitely disappointing. In addition, finding a table is a nightmare. The place is messy and noisy.

Decent food for a food court. Fish cakes were the typical you’d get at a Thai place and they’re worth a try.

I love Rosa’s! I love Thai. Rosa’s is very decently priced, their iced tea is amazing and service is fast. Green thai curry is where it’s at in my opinion but phad thai is pretty awesome too. I only wish it wasn’t in the food court as I find that I very rarely come by for this reason since finding a table can be a nightmare and it’s always loud and messy. I do occasionally come to grab an iced tea and have a little rest instead of going to a coffee place. Beware the queue at mealtimes on the weekends and [yikes] bank holidays.

You are in ‘the mall’…or for the more discerning, «Westfield Stratford». You are hungry. You do not want McD’s, ribs, or pizza. There are a lot of screaming kids around. Which means you now also need beer/liquor. This is one of the standout eateries in the food court area. Admittedly, from an ambiance perspective you are still in the mall… so in comparison to its bigger sister restaurant on Hanbury Street in Spitalfields the vibe is quite different. However, the food quality is excellent and is a welcome change from the usual mall offerings. The Green thai curry has a tasty amount of bite and spice and the fragrant rice is perfectly steamed and served(see my photo). Pricewise, £7.99 for a good sized curry and rice competes well with some other fare in nearby shops. They also serve Chang beer which matches the fishy/citrusy Thai flavours nicely. Just find a spot away from the screaming kids…

A variety of traditional Thai curries, drinks, noodles etc. I had the Thai red curry with vegetables. Even though it is labelled as mildly spiced, it had a subtle sweetness to it. I loved it. But my wife doesn’t like sweet curries at all so she didn’t enjoy it as much as I did. By the way if you are pure vegetarian you may not be able to have the green Thai curry as the curry sauce has some fish oil in it. Thanks to the lady at the counter who told us about it. Loved their service.

This is located in the upstairs food court, you can see them making your food fresh. I have tried a few dishes from here and all of them have been nice. The price is similar to what you would pay in a restaurant, around £9-£15 depending on what you order. As it is in the food court it can get very noisy, not the most relaxing experience.
