If you like contemporary dance, then definitely this is your place! Well established or just new contemporary dance companies from around the world are all welcome here. You can also catch now and then ballet, flamenco or hip hop shows. The theatre itself has excellent architecture, modern huge lounge rooms and really spacious seats. Tickets are less than average priced & If you book for more than one show, you get 20% discount! One of my favorite theatre all over London!

Great little venue for contemporary dance, with a varied programme of performances. Seats are quite comfortable and have good views of the stage. Several bars and the service is quick, so you never have to queue for too long.

This is a great theatre for dance lovers. It’s quite different from the Westend set because it’s so modern but that brings oh so many benefits with it. The entrance with ticket collection is large and spacious(a running theme for this place). There are several bars and lots of little stands selling programs and fruit gums in boxes which you can only seem to buy in the theatre these days. Plus there are toilets aplenty so you shouldn’t worry about long queues during the interval. But let’s face it… You don’t come to the theatre just for sweets and toilet breaks; you want to know about the stage itself. I promise you won’t be disappointed. The seating has been well thought out and is quite steep so you should get a good view anywhere. I was on the front row of the upper circle, which supposedly had restricted view because of the railing, but I could see everything clearly. The sets of stage probably depends on the performance but the ones I’ve seen have been excellent(Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty and Edward Scissorhands). Plus the acoustics are wonderful. I think Sadler’s Wells will have something for all tastes, whether you already know you like dance or not.

If you’re a fan of dance, Sadler’s Wells is an essential place to visit. Offering a range of dance styles from contemporaty to ballet — but my highlight is always the Matthew Bourne shows at Christmas. Last year’s Edward Scissorhands was an absolute delight. Cheap seats start at £12 which is excellent value, and they’re comfortable with a decent view, even from right at the back. The venue has a clean, contemporary look and staff are friendly and helpful.

This venue is the best London’s destination for any dance aficionado. From ballet to hip hop… their programme is always very versatile. If you book tickets early enough you can snatch tickets for just over a tenner. And believe me, you get a great view from those seats. I’ve seen one of the best dance productions there for a fraction of the regular ticket price.

This is by far the best theatre in London, in terms of comfort, varieties of programmes and the friendliness/helpfulness of the staff. The view from the main auditorium is superb unless someone very tall sits in front of you; the seats on the side are restricted-view. The sound system is absolutely top-notch, and the programme covers wide-spectrum of dances/theatre. I regularly go there and have seen superb Classical Ballet, Japanese Kabuki/Bunraku/Taiko/Theatre, Modern Dance, Flamenco, etc. The ticket prices are of great value and the productions are normally excellent.

Sadler’s Wells is simply a great destination for modern dance. They have a fantastic range prancing through, from modern ballet, to Flamenco, and Cuban… always something interesting. The venue itself is excellent — a good view from even the cheap seats, and a bar on every floor(yay). One key plus is that it is located away from the scrum of the West End; it’s a relief to go out and not have all the bars and restaurants in the area totally packed out. Definitely worth checking out if you’ve never been.

Sadler’s Wells is the home of dance only theatre and an absolute treat for a night out. They have modern dance, tango, flamenco and a whole host of other performances. I have to admit I’m a bit of a cultural philistine when it comes to dance — I am unable to take it straight up, but even I can’t resist the allure of a Matthew Bourne production at Christmas. Sleeping Beauty(vampire style), Swan Lake(male aggressive swan style) and Edward Scissorhands(snip snip style) have all been on in the last three years — and what a delight. Original, funny, touching and reimagined, Matthew Bourne at the Sadler’s is a magical experience to complete your Christmas. The Sadler’s is a pleasant, good looking modern theatre, with lovely views and reasonably price tickets — we saw E Scissorhands for a bargainous £12.50. Book up!

OK so your enjoyment here depends on whether or not you like dance. I tend to choose musicals over dance most days but with a non-English speaking inlaw in town and a need to find something to do with her that she hasn’t done on several other visits to London we booked tickets to see Edward Scissorhands. I have to say, the venue is great. Unlike the traditional theatres of the West End, this place is light, spacious and has several bars and concession stands(one on each floor it would seem). Getting in and out of the theatre was not a problem and sight lines were good even from the second circle. Also, a big bonus — the seats are comfy. I often find myself squirming in theatres with a numb bum but not here. Upon exit, I was also surprised at how easy it was to leave the theatre among the crowds. The show was sold out so I expected a bit of trouble getting out of the entrance, but again this place is well designed. Another problem with older theatres is temperature control(too hot/cold). This was on the comfortable/slightly cold side which is how I like it. You can always put a jumper on if you’re feeling the chill. Check it out if you’re into dance. They have a smaller theatre as well and productions suitable for children.

OK so it wasn’t very easy to find but once I did but that’s my only niggle. £12 to see ballet & on a Saturday is a bargain in my eyes. I found the staff friendly & helpful and with various bars & ice cream kiosks — a tub is £2.50 at the moment — there weren’t any queues when I attended. I took the cheap seats in the 2nd circle. The leg room isn’t brilliant but I had a perfect view of the stage(seat M15) and it was £6 cheaper than the row in front. Love the booking system where you can see the different levels before closing your seats.

Great venue dedicated just for dance performances. There is a huge lobby area where people can mingle and grab a drink before the show and during intermission. The seats are quite comfortable and you have quite a good view of the stage.

London’s main theatre dedicated exclusively to dance; from ballet to modern and much more in between. From Matthew Bourne Ballets, to Flamenco and Tango Festivals and contemporary dance from around the world Sadlers Wells is the home of dance in London. Completely rebuilt a decade or so ago this new spacious facility is accesible and well designed. Even in the gods you will generally get a decent view and the acoustics are great. Check out their programme and go to something.

I think Sadlers Wells is a great venue and they put on some really good performances. It’s modern, comfortable and has a very large stage area. The only thing I noticed really was that there clearly looks like some space to add more boxes at the side, not that it makes much difference to me!

I went to see a performance here after I’d been on a course in the neighbourhood. I wouldn’t have bother otherwise but now I’m so glad I did. It was Cyrano de Bergerac and it was really good. I’d sort of heard of Sadler’s Wells before but I had not realised what an incredibly high quality venue it is. The performance I saw was probably as good as you could see anywhere in the world, be it London, New York, Beijing. I never really thought of dance as being engaging but the performances that Sadler’s Wells puts on are exactly that. So, recommended — unless you really hate dance!

I was lucky to see a few of the flamenco performances on the last flamenco festival in Feb and not only the festival was fab and a real winner for Sadler Wells to have, but the venue was great as well. It is a fresh and modern venue, closely located to Angel tube station. Therefore it is not in the usual very central location, which can be a breath of fresh air too. Nonetheless, it is central enough for anyone to reach it easily. There is a nice café on its side(easy to miss), as you are facing the entrance on its right. It has sandwiches and hot food(including vegetarian soup) too, reasonably priced by the way. This venue offers good and sometimes alternative performances. At the moment you can catch the musical Shoes there at a fraction of the price of what it will be when it moves to the West End in a few weeks. Overall, a good discovery all around if you have never been there. You should try it out.

Sadler’s Wells is an impressive venue. The architecture of the building is modern but not cold. I love the glass front that allows you to see into the main atrium of the hall. Even though the architecture of the building is impressive, that’s not why you go to Sadler’s Wells. This is an excellent performance hall and a wonderful place to go to enjoy a show. When I have gone to Sadler’s Wells it has always been for a dance performance. I am always impressed with the groups that come to perform at Sadler’s Wells. No matter where I sit, I am able to fully see the stage. In addition, the prices are good for the quality of the performers. It doesn’t matter if it’s Alvin Ailey or Sabian Glover; Sadler’s Wells consistently has outstanding performers and performances. If you are a lover of the arts this is an outstanding venuel to enjoy.

I’ve been here a few times and it’s always been great, if you book well in advance you can get tickets for £10 which is pretty affordable but if you book close to the event and want a cheap ticket you will get crap seats with a restricted stage view. The last show I saw here was Matthew Bourne’s Dorian Gray which was absolutely spectacular. As soon as it was over I wanted to see it again but it was the last night so I couldn’t. The only downside is the bar. One night I was there the bar staff were quite slow and drinks are expensive. The crowd is very much upper class.

I love modern dance; no surprise then that the Sadlers Wells is one of my favourite theatres. I can still remember the old theatre, but the new auditorium is even better. I think there isn’t a single seat in the house that doesn’t offer a great view. The rows are generously paced apart and you aren’t crammed — not even up in the second circle. Depending on what is on show, the audience is made up of dancers, arty types, gay couples and middle-aged women. Or a bit of everything, as was the case with yesterday’s final performance of Matthew Bourne’s Dorian Gray. As dance shows are usually on a relatively short run, I have only ever experienced full house performances. I like the atmosphere before the show starts. The ground floor bar is buzzing and people are milling around in– and outside waiting for their mates to arrive. The bar staff on the second circle were particularly rubbish last night — what a shame. It doesn’t seem to be possible to order your interval drinks as in some of the more traditional establishments. Still, the overall experience was great and I have already booked tickets for the next show. Public transport is OK, with Angel station just 5 minutes away; but a real bonus is its close proximity to Exmouth Market with its great choice of bars and restaurants(doesn’t apply to Sundays when the area is completely dead).
