For the past few years Tesco have been doing their best to dominate the mini-supermarket scene in Hackney. A quick bus trip up Kingsland road from Hoxton and you’ll count about 5 Tesco express shops. Well it seems Sainsburys have decided to fight back. There are at least 4 ‘Locals’ between Hackney town hall and Bethnal green tube station and I believe this is the newest.
Sainsbury’s local is, in my opinion, much better than Tesco Metro and what’s even better is this one is almost right below my gym (although there goes the excuse «I can’t go to the gym as I have to go to the supermarket to get food» that I’ve trotted out more than once to D).
Of course, I’d prefer a Waitrose but then I’d have no money to spend on anything else.
