Convenient little grocery store with excellent customer service. I came here to grab some cheap breakfast since it’s right accross the street from Holiday Inn. I grabbed an almond crossaint (83p), pint of milk (49p), muesli (1.30 GBP), yogurt (95p), and a kit-kat (1 GBP) all for 4.57 GBP. As I was checking out using the self-check out machine, I was having computer issues. The staff seamlessly remedied the errors and I was on my way! Didn’t give me a «ugh… tourists» look either. Kind gestures make a long way, even if you don’t know you are doing it.

After spending a lot more time at this Sainsbury’s, I’ve downgraded the rating from 4 to 2 stars. The employees are practically inept and the self check out machines are extremely glitchy. Make sure you pay attention to what you are being charged because these cashiers have the tendency of ringing up the same item twice and charging extra. They all seem like it’s their first ever day at work, every day. It’s not a good sign.

This place is mad at lunch-time! It’s of a decent size, no doubt, and offers reasonable value, but the queue snaked round the entire store! That’s just crazy. Still, three stars for its convenient location, variety of stock given its status as a ‘Local’ and the fact that so many people were willing to queue means it can’t be all that bad.

Great little corner grocery store by my hotel. They have premade sandwiches and salads. If you want a quick and cheap meal, stop by this place! Also, they sell Walker’s bacon flavored potato crisps for way cheaper than the other convenience stores nearby! Another plus: they’re open until 11pm at night!

This Sainbury’s kicks booty. It is just a block from the London Central Hostel of YHA UK. I particularly enjoy the following two items (which can be found in any Sainsbury’s but this one has never let me down when it comes to stock.
Strawberry Trifle (Seriously… try it. Custard, cake, whipped cream, and strawberries in gelatin)
Ginster’s Cornish Pie (I usually buy the original flavour, but you can also get a chicken one, or peppered steak)

Ohhhhhhh Sainsbuuuuuury’s, what on Earth would we do without you! Let’s face it, before jetting across the pond a few weeks ago, I had never heard of any of the following…
Bulmer’s Original Cider

Hardy’s Cab Shiraz

Pork Cumberland Sausages
But thanks to our local Sainsbury’s, these items have been in permanent rotation in our wood paneled fridge. As for this location, well, it’s tiny, but they always seem to be well stocked and the people are nice enough. I say nice enough, because they don’t really blow you over with smiles and friendliness, but they do ring you up quite swiftly and well, I guess that’s all you really need when on the hunt for food.
