WORST. My husband and we’re waiting for a friend to arrive on Sunday. Searcy’s looked like a nice place to pass the time, but didn’t open until 12:00. 12:07 still not open and bartender was less than friendly. Maybe he had a rough night. Maybe he was angry he was pouring bubbles instead of drinking them. I don’t know, but what a disappointment. We left… Bubble-less.

You’ve just crawled off an overnight flight, managed to get — cranky and red-eyed — through immigration without an extra frisky pat-down, and bought yourself a ticket on the Heathrow Express heading into London. And now you’re here. Paddington station. Ta da. What else better to do than celebrate your victory over modern air travel with a glass(or bottle…) of champagne at 11am? Treat yourself. It will prepare you for your onward journey on the London Underground with a 25kg suitcase and a carry-on bag that is somehow much heavier and bulkier than you ever remember it being.

Die Searcys Champagne Bar ist sicherlich der netteste Ort um auf einen Zug in Paddington zu warten ;-)

Having to kill time whilst waiting for a train ive managed to find this gem in food area of paddington station. It looks a little out of place, however it also looks a he’ll of a lot more appealing than the fiullers pub. They don’t just serve champagne & have a great selection of wines as well as food including seafood, charcuterie & cheese plates as well as other snacks. I ordered a glass of cuatros rayas Sauvignon blanc which was rather tasty and was reasonably priced @ £5.50 I will definitely come here agIn the next time I am travelling from London paddington

Believe it or not I actually kinda enjoyed myself the other day while killing a bit of time at Paddington Station. I was there to review the new Champagne Bar for Londonist and I’m happy to recommend it for the next time you’re stuck at the station and keen for quaff. (Here’s a link to that review: ) During my visit, I found service to be super prompt, helpful and friendly. Food was good and reasonably priced; I really liked the smoked salmon with lemon, the smoked tuna with almonds and the coppa. But of course what makes this place great is the shampers! From an £8.50, 125 mm glass of La Marquis de Marillac Brut NV to a £1200 Balthazar of Laurent-Perrier Brut NV, they’ve got the bubbly for any budget. A fairly affordable way to go about a sipping session here might be the Pommery Tasting Tray at £18 with its four taster size(50ml) glasses of seasonal Champagnes. More a pimped out kiosk than a proper restaurant or bar, this new entry to the food and drink options at Paddington is actually quite comfortable(easy in and out for itchy commuters too!) and a lot more pleasant option that pretty much everything else in the station.

This champagne bar is literally located inside Paddington station and yes I’ve been as well a bit surprised to find such a luxurious place in the middle of the station. The overall outfit is pretty beautiful, lush and let you get relaxed in a good atmosphere to enjoy a glass of Champagne. You forget easily all the shops and restaurants that surround you as much as you don’t feel anymore in Paddington station. They have on their menu some of the best champagne which will pleased the proper champagne experts and lovers! The members of the staff are adorable, delight to learn you more about Champagne and full of attention to make sure you’re having a good time. I’m not an addict of Champagne bar and even less of Paddington station so I would not make the journey to visit again the Searcys but I still recommend it to all the people passing by the station and having an urgent desire to drink Champagne! I think it can be a great place as well for business meeting, again if you need to stay around the station.
