This was my third visit to Seven and as always I was pretty pleased. In the markets of Brixton is has that home made Brixton vibe, everything’s a bit mismatched and half put together, but it works. The cocktails are very reasonably priced here from £5-£7.50, much better than some of the«fancier» joints in London and the staff will wait your table so you don’t have to queue at the bar. On this occasion we had the strawberries and cream which was perfection and only £5. Can’t get much happier than that.

I really love this little bar in Brixton Market. I’ve been a couple of times — it’s very well priced, the cocktails are great and I like the atmosphere. It’s pretty chilled out, with basic(but interesting) décor, like tables made from suitcases. And they have a good selection of board games. The cocktail menu regularly changes, and the drinks are well thought out and inexpensive. This time I had the Strawberries & Cream which was only £5 and came with a lollipop! If you’re looking for a little place in the area and don’t want to spend a lot, this is the place!

This little cozy cocktail/tapas bar inside the Village Market, serves nice cocktails and tapas, but I was unfortunately already full when I got there, so I did not taste their food. The place is a good mixture of old and new and I absolutely love everything from the tables, to the fun scrabble reserved things to the wine cooler(which was an old tomato sauce can). The menu had fun details as well and I am a sucker for quirky menus:) We came here for drinks and only ordered from their menu(did not try to be creative/inventive, but I guess they can make other drinks as well if you ask them to do so). We tried the Pisco Sour with cinnamon. Yum! And we tried a couple of more as well. No complaints on the drink side. Service was friendly, price was ok as well and all in all a place I would love to stop by when in London next time.

It’s kinda weird. I like it. This is how I judge most things. It’s a hole-in-the-wall with the ambiance of a cave, which is a compliment, I swear. I’m told it used to be an Indian clothing store before. Everything from the exposed beams on the ceiling to their Perello Olive silverware holders to their wooden slab communal tables to their odd upside-down plant décor, it’s edgy without being grimey. It’s cool without being pretentious. Popped in on a Tuesday to try their £5−7 cocktails. They also serve a variety of tapas. So let me just say if you’re a cocktail snob, you will probably have a thing or to say about the fact that the drinks are a bit safe(lots of mixers and liquers). But who cares. If you want boughey drinks, go to Charlottes. If you want a cool ambiance with badass-yet-friendly staff, come to Seven and chill the f*ck out.

This place is always buzzing with a cool vibe, the food is ok, nothing special but the cocktails are pretty good. However, the last time I went the service was particularly bad. I had to wait 30 minutes to receive my drink after ordering it and when they finally brought it, it wasn’t what I’d asked for. The previous guests’ food that had been left on our table also took 25 minutes to be cleared and a member of staff walked past our table a few times just ignoring it. It was extremely difficult to get served upstairs, would’ve stayed there all night as the cocktails were good but not worth waiting half and hour for.

Absolutely love Seven! They do some delicious and unique cocktails for only £5 each. They’re all presented differently too. It’s a really quirky bar with mismatched furniture. It can be a bit cold though if you’re visiting in winter! I’ve tried the vegetarian sharing platter and it was excellent. Fantastic cheeses!

Great bar with fun and versatile cocktail menu. Affordable but generous tapas platters are a good accompaniment. One of the few places I have been able to find in London that serves cold — actually cold — beers. The service is friendly and quick. The only downfall is the messiness and slight griminess of the place. The menus and tables are often either sticky or wet, which is a definite turn off.

I love Brixton Village, it’s great for an after work drink and finding somewhere to eat. On a Friday evening most places are busy or have queues outside, so we were lucky to sneak in and bag a little table upstairs in Seven at Brixton. The décor is quirky and a bit grungy but I really like it here. The short but interesting cocktails are a real bargain at £5 each. My favourite was an amazing watermelon margarita — probably one of the yummiest cocktails I’ve ever had. My date had a pineapple Mai tai which came with a flaming sugar cube in it! It’s a fun, buzzing atmosphere in here, and whilst I’ve never eaten there the tapas looks good. Great for drinks with friends or a casual cocktail with a date.

My favourite bar in Brixton. A fantastic welcoming atmosphere, creative & strong cocktails and simply delicious tapas. For large groups you can book a table in advance which has been amazing help when planning birthday parties. The cocktail selection is always changing with some weird and wonderful creations available alongside the classics. And all for a fiver each. Seven. .don’t ever change this! The small plates are super yummy especially the jamon platters and the whitebait. .nom nom nom! The only downside is if you arrive early in the evening, you can still smell the lingering fishy odours from the fishmonger next door :-)

A gorgeous place, Seven was lovely and quiet when we visited yesterday, which is seriously rare at 2pm on a Sunday in the always-bustling Brixton Market. Relatively large in comparison to the other venues in the Row, I’d heard great things and was certainly impressed by the suitcase-centric décor when we first sat down. Everything was fine for a while — our food order was taken quickly(a Meat Sharing Platter and one portion of Patatas Bravas) and the latte that arrived to wake me up was massive and delicious. Our platter arrived. About ten minutes after, I got up(it was remarkably hard to catch the eye of one of the 3 staff that were working) and went to ask about the Patatas Bravas. About 10 minutes later, some free olives arrived, apparently as a ‘sorry’ for not bringing them. Finally, about 40 minutes after the platter arrived, some Patatas Bravas made their appearance. At no point was any reason given for this weird delay. The food itself is great, but everything about this place was completely let down by the terrible service. It was really quiet, and yet they still ignored us, got our order wrong, and then took another 30 minutes to actually bring the dish. Not only that, but they brought the bill at the speed of light, but again went back to feigning deaf and blindness went it came to bringing us our change. I was so annoyed by the time that we finally left that it didn’t matter how good the food had been(although the high standard of the food did mean that I had to give two stars rather than one). Certainly won’t be hurrying back.

i came here for an extremely fun sunday school wine event run by the girls at a grape night in(seriously check them out if you are a wine lover, so much fun!) although the wine was not provided by seven at brixton, the food was and it was delicious. the atmosphere was also all theirs and it was lovely. very relaxed yet buzzing. service has always been excellent here, and i have heard they are well known for their delicious yet reasonably priced cocktails. i will definitely be back to try those out soon. all the extra points for being dog friendly. i love those businesses the very most!

Oh how I wish my life wasn’t so busy… OK that is 1) quite big headed of me, and 2) a lie. But on this particular occasion I wish I had the chance to spend more time here and enjoy the atmosphere. This place definitely has that! I came for the last hour of a friends birthday drinks, upon which they’d obviously been there for 3 or so hours and gotten suitably merry. Good for her I say! If you can’t have a skinful on your birthday eh! Well, this I feel was more upmarket than a skinful, after all it was cocktails. But cool cocktails, served in jam jars or odd bits of glassware where bartenders had thrown together ingredients like peach iced tea and ginger beer to mix up classic cocktails in a hip and trendy twist, oh so appropriate for Brixton at the moment. Having come from a classical concert I was not appropriately dressed, so made up for it with my flamboyant personality of course… An Awkward entrance was made and I leave it your imagination to fill in the blanks. Now it did take 20 minutes to be served, but I don’t blame the staff since they were friendly, it was packed and I actually would have been served in 10 minutes but the waitress sliced open her hand opening a tin of peaches, as you do. Getting back to the table I then found that because we reserved a space for a party there was table service. Smooth, Daniel… Anyway, in the hour I managed to sample a peach teatini and a shiso martini, so I was obviously modelling my drinking on the alcoholic lovechild of James Bond and David Bowie(born in Brixton and incredibly cool, but not in his Labyrinth or Space Oddity phase). Oh and by the way, £5!!! NOWAY I hear you think, but yes indeed much of the way in fact. What. A. Steal. A full evening of merriment must be had here, also want to sample their tapas mmmm.

Unhungry though we were, still we managed to consume a full charcuterie board at Seven at Brixton. It did look a little disappointing at first(we must have been hungrier than we imagined) as there were only a choice of three meats and a few cornichons. But I can genuinely say that the choice was absolutely brilliant. A dark salami with a peppercorn casing, a regular chorizo and a milano salami that packed a real punch. It was the small details in the bar/café/restaurant that made this into a four star as opposed to a three. On arrival we were given glasses of water with a strip of cucumber curled around the handful of ice; a book shelf straining under the weight of colour coded books. But upstairs I felt like I’d stepped into Tacheles. From the rickety stairs, light streaming through huge single-glazed windows, to decades of paint peeling from the wall of the bathroom, it felt cool and private — stumbled upon. Good food. Cool settings. Unobtrusive service. Next time I go, I’ll head upstairs, drink far too much(very good) coffee and read ‘Goodbye Berlin’.

Delicious. Seriously, delicious. A friend dragged me into this place promising I’d love it — usually I’m not impressed with places he insists I’ll love, but this place? Yes. Again. More. Please. The ONLY thing I didn’t love was the haphazard waitstaff-ing(no one seemed to know who was ordering from who, but it seemed to sort itself out very quickly) and the seating was a bit wonky and uncomfortable. Not a place to curl up for an afternoon, but a great way to spend a break in your afternoon in Brixton. Cocktails are £5 each and they’re both sizable and delicious. We went upstairs through a bunch of small rooms before snagging a spot at a table meant for 6 but only seating 2 — luckily, the girls were kind enough to share with us. We didn’t have any food, but the girls at our table did — and it looked darn good. I got a Ginger Beer Basil Mojito. He got a a Crème Brulee Martini. He normally hates mojitos; I am not a martini fan and find creamy drinks to be absolutely disgusting and nauseating. And yet, we kept sneaking sips of each other’s drinks. That’s enough of an endorsement for me.

I’ve a few reservations about this place — a niggling«I want to like it, but I just don’t» sense about it, but I can’t find anything wrong with it. The good: Cheap decent cocktails — for just a fiver, you get nice long drinks. Super friendly staff. Books books book — their own inbuilt library, with the de rigeur copies of the Da Vinci Code and that sort of thing, but hey. Free wifi Good food at decent prices — a light tapas-y meal with drinks were had here for 6 for about £90. This was mostly drinks… The bad: Well, there’s only one thing I can really say that’s bad, and that’s that there is a LOWLOWLOW ceiling as you go up the steps — at 6’3″/192cm I don’t have to bother ‘cos it would decapitate me, but it’s seriously low. As in, I’m suprised that the Safety Elves have allowed it. That’s… um… really all that I can say about it. It’s a really nice place. For some reason, I’m not mad on it, but I recognise everything that they’ve done right. So go there. It’s lovely. Just don’t expect to see me.(unless it grows on me)

Seven at Brixton is one of the first places you come across when you enter Market Row from Electric Avenue. Even on a rainy day, this place makes you feel as though you are on vacation. So much to see and discover! We spent all afternoon here, looking up from our notes and laptops every now and again to take in the surroundings. Like most of the new places in this undercover market, Seven has a very eclectic and special feel to it. We didn’t even realise at first that the magic continues upstairs! This is an instant favourite, and I will use every opportunity to return. The food looked delicious, and the cocktails sounded extremely tempting, too. So much more to explore

The vanilla julep makes me feel like I’m sitting on a southern plantation in a bonnet, relaxing, etc. It may not make you feel that way, but it will make you feel like you just drank something really nice, so try it Vanilla julep over tapas, but the tapas are pretty good too

A quirky little caf that offers tapas, salads and a warm atmosphere. The gents that run the place are very friendly and thoughtful and can make a mean omelette! We stopped in in the morning on a weekday and I had just gotten off an international flight and was ready for lunch at 10 am. They sorted me out with a salad and soup and offered my partner breakfast. They also have artists curate the upstairs rooms and makes for a fun and interesting atmosphere. There’s great space upstairs for groups! I haven’t tried their cocktails yet, but it won’t be long!
