An afro barbers shop where every haircut is a real experience. I am White with Euro hair. I started going here because I needed a haircut and it’s just down the road from my flat and have been going ever since. If you have Euro hair, and want anything more complicated than a short back and sides this may not be the best place for you. This really is the epicentre of the local West-African community. Most of the men sitting in the chairs along the back wall seem not to be actually here for a haircut, just to watch TV on one of the two Flatscreen TVs and discuss the topic of the day, loudly and passionately. Sometimes there is football on the screens, sometimes hilarious West-African soap operas, sometimes other random stuff. Heated discussions about football, politics and various other topics go on above your head, an African Cup of Nations match where Ghana played stands out in my memory as particularly chaotic and lively. Every time I leave this place I have a smile on my face and am reminded why I love South London. I love this place and with haircuts for £8 you can’t go wrong.
