Sharps Barber and Shop

Sadly, as an non-​bearded lady I haven’t personally experienced the wonder that is a barbers and coffee shop under one roof. However, I have heard nothing but praise from my more hairy male pals that this is a one stop shop for a pretty smooth break from the city.
There’s a nice little seating area for girlfriends in the shop, so boyfriends can get revenge for being made to wait outside dressing rooms in shops by making their girlfriends wait for a change. Only it’s better, because there’s great coffee and snacks involved.

Today I’ve had the 2^nd bad experience. In January I visited «sharps barber» the first time to have my beard shaped but «Amberto» the barber shaped it and cut almost all of it, «I though this guy knows what he is doing… And he wants to shape it in certain way to make it grown…»
Today I’ve done the same mistake again, after growing my beard for 5 month, I went there to have it SHAPED but for the 2^nd time my beard got trimmed off!!!
It’s not worth the money!
It would be better and cheaper to buy a trimmer and do it by myself than going there again!

This place is both a café and a barber shop so my review is actually for the café part. Just having a café and barber shop together is screaming hipster and that was also the feeling when walking in. Several people including the staff looking like pretty much all the same while appearing to be going for a unique look. It does not really bother me but what however does is staff feeling a bit too cool to do their job. Had to wait a long time for bored looking girl behind counter to bother to take order, then wait for chatting with friend and then slowly making coffee and then another wait for paying. Coffee was pretty decent but many other places around here make good coffee as well (Curators, Tap, Workshop, Store Street Espresso and Espresso Room to mention a few) and have nice service.
They do use coffee from the Barn in Berlin so pretty decent stuff so will probably give it another go as I may just have been unlucky. The place looks really nice but not really convinced by the combo barber shop and café as hair should in my opinion stay far away from food and beverages.

A competent cut but customer service wasn’t great. I was passed around between various people and when it came to the cut the end result was okay but wasn’t quite what I was looking for.

This review is about the coffee shop inside the barber shop.
The coffee is good. The espresso machine [1] is high quality. The down-​to-​earth baristas are very capable. The coffee beans often change, which keeps the coffee interesting but always delicious. Scientific measurements of the coffee [2] are made, which result in consistently good coffee. Prices are low.

Great barbers, simple and cool a great place for dudes. Prices not too bad. But you pay for what you get. (a bad ass haircut)

On my last birthday I decided to get my hair cut somewhere good. I generally have a laissez-​faire attitude toward my hair, but still I wanted a change. I was a little intimidated about somewhere super trendy so I went to Sharps which had been recommended and seemed like a nice middle ground.
Sharps is on Charlotte Street and has a contemporary, but relaxed atmosphere. I had booked the day before, though it is not always necessary. I was offered a drink and then taken to have my hair washed thoroughly before my cut. My hairdresser recognized that my hair was a bit of a mess but wasn’t rude about it, and instead gave me advice about how to take care of it etc. He was generally very chatty and amiable and took his time and did a very thorough job with my hair. In all I was there for about an hour, but, as I mentioned, my hair was a mess so I imagine it is normally quicker. The whole thing cost a little over 30 pounds which I felt was very reasonable.
Sharps is a good, friendly hairdressers that offer a range of services and products.
