I went here last week for a full leg wax and a brazilian. I was greeted by a friendly member of staff, whom pointed me in the direction of the waxing room. I was then greeted by a lovely lady, whom told me she would be waxing me. She set about waxing me, making me feel very comfortable and chatting the entire time. Next was onto the leg wax. I informed her how I’d had a bad experience at another salon previously with leg waxing. She told me she’d never had a complaint against her and was a perfectionist. After the leg wax was finished, I got dressed and paid. Once home I did a proper examination of my legs(I know should have done then and there) and found pretty much all my hair was still there, just shorter. Whether this was because my hair is quite blonde or because it wasn’t long enough I’m not sure but I was very disappointed as I’d paid to had this done, rather than shaving. I emailed the salon telling them of my experience and was told they were very sorry for this but I would receive a 10% off discount next time I was in the salon. I wasn’t impressed as I don’t think I should have to give them more money, in order for me to get some sort of reimbursement from them, for their mistake. I emailed them telling them this but have not heard since, hence the negative review.

I have been to a number of hairdressers around London, from the outskirts to the pricey ones in Covent garden, and i found Shine to be one of the best ones i have come across! They go out of their way to make sure you’re happy with your hair, they don’t rush you like some places do, if it’s going to take 3 hours for a hair colour, then they will do it. They provide honest and fair consultations, and their work is great. i had my hair highlighted there probably 6 times now, and cut a few times, and i have nothing bad to say =) I would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a new place!

I haven’t been to the hairdressers since a disastrous 90s hair related incident that resulted in me having a flat top, Fresh Prince style except not so fresh. I’m over it now, but I don’t need to cut the hair on my hair as it refuses to grow. The other hair though, is another matter so for waxing I have recently started going to Shine. It’s situated on Church Street in an old house and the treatment rooms are as relaxed and comfortable as being in someones bedroom, probably because that’s what they used to be. It smells like heaven and the products they use are wonderful, resulting in perfect results, time after time, every time because I’m worth it. The lady that waxed me was professional, quick and friendly and a bikini wax costs £14. They also do a wide variety of unusual treatments, I am saving up for a skin analysis(£45) although have been slightly put off by a 21 year old friend of mine being told that he has the skin of a 35 year old, I just don’t need to know.
