Ok, now that I explained a little bit about north east London in my last review about Epping Forest, right across the street is Sir Alfred Hitchcock Hotel. Here is my review about Epping Forest:
Sir Alfred Hitchcock Hotel is in Leytonstone, London, which is the birth place of Sir Alfred Hitchcock, who was born on August 131899 at 517 High Road, above the family’s grocery store. The site is now a gas station, and about a twenty five minute brisk walk from the Sir Alfred Hitchcock Hotel, which is behind the monumental Tesco megastore and up through some of E11’s most celebrated roads, at the corner of Epping Forest known as Leyton Flats. . Despite the hotel’s name and being in the city of his birth, the association with the legendary director is basically only the Hitchcock memorabilia that is generously featured throughout the establishment. Sir Alfred Hitchcock Hotel is basically a reasonably priced, 25 room bed and breakfast with a pub and restaurant. The pub has a pretty solid variety of beers, wines and spirits, and is a great place to pull up a chair next to the fire, relax with friends around the bar, or on the patio. It’s a convenient hangout for me, since my apartment is basically right next door. On most nights, there is a good mixed crowd, but the place is packed with standing room only when big soccer matches are on. Although they serve dinner, and are well known for their«Psycho Steak,» I don’t enjoy most British cuisine, and thus just stick to the beer and good conversation. Although this isn’t necessarily a first pick as a tourist destination, I have a soft spot in my heart for the place because of the great times I’ve had. It’s certainly charming and it’s across from Epping Forest, which is fun to explore. Of note… There is free wifi. There is public transportation, as well as plenty of space for self parking. For more information: I 4⁄5 recommend Sir Alfred Hitchcock Hotel.

The location is slightly out of the way from London, but I came here with my husband for a drink before walking into Epping Forest. There was no one there except for us, with a great circa 2002 soundtrack(S Club 7 and Robbie Williams!?) and some spy thrillers on the television. A nice and cozy atmosphere, with friendly staff… if we ever find a reason to return here, we will!

all good in the restaurant which is a franchise and not the hotel. cheerful staff, clean good food served well and not at all expensive. Lovely surroundings in the restaurant looking out onto the meadow opposite. good parking. clean toilets. what more do you want?

I’ve not eatern in the restaurant or stayed in the hotel, but I’ve had a drink in the bar quite a few times — and it’s very nice indeed. It has a cosy, autumnal feel to it, with lots to look at on the walls and a nice view of Epping Forest towards the back. And the beer garden makes it a decent summer option as well.
