Went into this branch of Slug and Lettuce for a drink last week and was sadly unimpressed. I’d been tempted in by the cocktail advert outside, but there was no sign of cocktails on the drinks menu — or anywhere else. There was also no sign of any staff, and after waiting at the bar for a few minutes, I decided to go to the pub next door, which was cheaper anyway. I was also put off by the slightly unpleasant smell which lingered about the pub — it smelled of sweat, which was not very pleasant. Not a pub I’d re-visit, particularly given the plethora of good drinking spots on Putney High Street.

Part of the slug and lettuce chain this pub is on putney high street and is one of the smaller of these pubs. As a result they have tried to cram in as many tables as they can and so, unless you bag the sofas in the front window, you must be prepared for sitting very close to the people at the next table. The atmosphere is just like any other slug and lettuce — not much to write home about, but is clean and comfortable. The staff here are not very friendly and last time i went they kept forgetting to bring our drinks and we waited forever to get our bill. the menu sounds better than the food in reality is, but it is ok for a cheap lunch, or for snacks with drinks in the evening.
