Absolutely AMAZING restaurant; from the food, to the service, to the million dollar view of the Tower Bridge! It’s in the very trendy & cool Wapping neighborhood. Just a short walk from the tube!

A wonderful riverside intimate restaurant with a beautiful décor. Whilst Smiths is a fish restaurant I’m a non fish eater. However the non fish dishes I had did not disappoint! I had a delicious Camembert followers by chicken stuffed with sage and onion stuffing wrapped in pancheta. My boyfriend had the fish and commented on it’s good quality. Staff were extremely friendly. A great date place!

So far, Smith’s has been the best restaurant I have been to. The food is to die for and the service is excellent. The waiters and waitresses are tentative in making sure your glass isn’t empty, all polite and helpful and the views are spectacular! I especially enjoyed listening to the soft music being played on the piano. I’ve been here three times and will definitely be coming back for more. Perfect place for a special occasion.

Good view of bridge. Located directly on The River. Fun place to take a leisurely stroll after dinner. The best«chips» I’ve ever tasted in my life – and French fries are my favorite. After a week in Paris, it was nice to have a simple piece of fish. Delicious dinner! Fantastic drink selection with creatively mixed cocktails.

Ooh la la! This place was fancy-schmancy, had amazing food, and the view was beautiful. We went for a Saturday night dinner(reservations made ~5 days in advance) with a group, and everyone loved the food and the view. I had the prawn cocktail and the main course scallops. Now, I keep making the mistake of thinking that prawn cocktail is the same as shrimp cocktail in the US, but this was the first time that I wasn’t disappointed when little pieces of prawn showed up in sauce with salad. Because that appetizer was fresh, flavorful, and not overpowered by the sauce. The scallops were the real hit though — I can still taste their delicious, buttery smoothness now. Best scallops I’ve ever had, bar none. There were 5 or 6 large scallops to the serving: plenty for me given that I’d had an appetizer, but might have been a little light if you were a big man or hadn’t gotten a first course(or both). So where’d my 5th star go, you ask? Well, the service was just kind of snobby. I recognize that a group of 5 twenty-somethings that aren’t ordering wine might not be your favorite table, but at least try not to show it. It’s not like we were ordering only the cheapest things on the menu or anything. P. S. Fair warning that based on the reasonably affordable menu I didn’t realize quite how fancy it was going to be – it’s a worth-dressing-up-for kind of place.

If you’re a massive sea food lover then this is a place of your dream. You can get a whole lobster for a reasonable price of £29. The service is a bit sketchy, but all and all it’s worth a visit just for the sea food.

Top location. Average food. Depends what’s important for you really. We went for a working lunch on a fine sunny day and it worked a treat. The place is modern, comfortable and spacious. The restaurant looks out onto the docks by the Thames and you get a great view of Tower Bridge. The back of the restaurant opens up completely so it’s real waterside dining. One of the party commented it was just like being back home in Seattle. Job done. The food though has a way to go to match the surroundings. Tempura prawns weren’t encased in anything I would describe as tempura. More a sort of thick casing like you’d get on standard pub fare. And the prawns inside were a little old and dusty. The drizzled sauce far too bitter as well. Perfectly edible and a decent portions though to be fair. The medley of grilled fish again didn’t seem sumptuously fresh and the sauce wasn’t tasty enough to set it off. again, perfectly nice though. Bread was awful. A pappy mess that they lightly grilled to get some texture into it but it comes out as neither grilled or fresh and just ends up stale. Service is a little too attentive and try hard although again it’s nice enough. I can pour my own water though. The waiters must have been on a kickback for the number of bottles dispatched. It feels like they all need to relax a bit. We like coming to a lovely comfy place right by the water. It doesn’t need to pretend to be anything more than that but it’s trying to. The others liked their meals of Dover sole and Cod. But they don’t know what they’re on about. Lots to like about this place then, but it’s all location. If they can loosen up, concentrate on doing the simple things well, this will be a great place to spend a sunny afternoon.

The service was second to none, and if you’re lucky enough to book a window seat, which we were, the views over look Tower Bridge and The Shard. With the weather being bright and sunny we were able to see the sight both in the light and watch all the lights of the London skyline gradually come to life. All four of us had something different for both start and main course. Smith’s is known for its fish so to start we had Calamari, Prawn Cocktail, Crab and Fish soup, and all plates were left sparking clean! I have to stay I’ve never had so many prawns in one prawn cocktail, and the partner in crimes Calamari was piled sky high! They certainly don’t skimp on portion sizes here. For main course most of us stuck to the fish route apart from the partner in crime who had lamb which looked incredible! I had fish cakes with sweet chili sauce, and a portion of hand cut chips, although with the size of the fish cakes I really didn’t need the chips! The parents had skate and halibut and both cleared their plates so no complaints there! Three of us were all too full up to squeeze in a desert, but the birthday girl, as always, had room! Lucky she did really as they brought her out the cutest birthday message! Overall we had a great meal, all four of us greatly enjoyed our food and left as very happy customers!

WOne of my favourite restaurants, in fact probably my most favourite! Why not 5 stars? Well I am really fussy the food is great, really really good and normally the service is good but the last time we went the waiter was new and a little(lot) distracted and not attentive at all and did not even have a knowledge of what was on the menu. And its not cheap. I am really happy to pay the price for the food though generous portions, the tastiest fish dishes I have ever eaten and good wine what more can anyone ever want apart from attentive service? Whatever I have ordered it has been delivcious and I really loved my Razor Clam starter when I went last week but the Halibut was gorgeous. One warning though even though the desserts are delicious you have to have a big appetite to fit them in. It may not be the trendiest place in the world but it feels classy and it is the sort of place that you can take most people although they do have a mild dress code of looking smart shouldn’t be a problem for most people. In conclusion I can only say my recommendation is that I have been here four times and the food has never been less than brilliant I really really recommend it.
