I rather liked this place, but only because a) I was attending a private party there, and b) I’m rather partial to seediness in an ironic kind of way. Just as well really as it is pretty seedy. Those red banquettes — hmm, I suspect they’ve been in situ since 1970. Be warned — drinks are expensive, and the karaōke piped into the bathrooms from the other bar is a bit disturbing. Finding the place is hard work too. It’s halfway down an alley in one of the more ‘colourful’ parts of Soho. Look for the big sign way above your head. Loved the dancing poles and the baroque mirrors though. I’d go again just for the décor, and their scotch and cokes are good.

Way too expensive with terrible service to boot. The smaller bar as a performance venue is useless because the shape of the room means that 60% of the audience can’t actually see the stage. I ordered a rosé and the barman gave me a white wine. I investigated and he reassured me it was a rosé. I went into the hallway where there was no red lighting and saw that it was actually the much cheaper white wine, but I’d paid for the rosé. I again asked him about it and he just repeated that it was rosé without even looking at it again. Awful service. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? Also, you have to queue in one of Soho’s less pious alleys. Very seedy, between lap dancing clubs and sex shops. Not particularly wholesome fun.

This place still looks like the lap dancing club it used to be, with garish wallpaper and, well, dancing poles. the food — chips, humus and pita, goat’s cheese salad, that sort of thing — is very tasty although a bit overpriced. This is also the place where they hold the BBC Comedy Presents night the first monday of every month, and that is a great night.

I was surprised by the size of the bar once entering, though I have a feeling this has less to do with the perceived size of the building and more to do with the alleyway you have to wait in line in. The bar itself is cool and the place definitely had a nice atmosphere, however the layout isn’t really conducive to comfort, unless you want to fork over the money for a table. Myself and my group of friends found ourselves being jammed in the square upper bar area, partially out of necessity to the crowd and partially for the convenience it bestowed in quickly obtaining rounds. The bar staff was very pleasant and provided quick and efficient service. I can’t really comment on the quality of the cocktails as I just had double vodka/red bulls. However, I can honestly say that these were made well, though that might be the most simple of bartending metrics. I would recommend Soho Revue Bar if you’re in the area and want something a little different from the normal fare of the Picadilly Circus/Lower Soho area. If you’re looking to have a little more space and move around though, I’d have to say that you should keep looking.

Formerly a lap dancing venue this place still has a seedy look with small round tables facing a centred stage and pod with dancing poles. I went to a private event here so I’m not sure what it’s like normally or what sort of nights it’s used for but when I was there, there was free house wine(which was actually really really nice!) and nibbles and canapés, which ware also very tasty! If you can, I’d recommend visiting this venue simply because the lay out and the atmosphere is so different to any other bar in London!

I had a really great night here, the atmosphere is wild! the people are friendly and up for anything! the upstairs bar is more quiet and chilled out, but later on at night, head downstairs to the main dancefloor. i was lucky enough to be there when jodie harsh was djing, music was great, danced all night and had a generally brilliant time with some lovely near-naked men!

Not highly heard of due to its location in an alley way along Walker’s Court, the soho revue bar does a wealth of musical events as well as great DJs and beautiful dancers. The place itself is stunning, a grand piano, blue velvet curtains on the stage as well as a gold staircase and royal looking mirrors, it truly is beautiful. It looks small from the outside but is infact huge. A must-see if you want to hunt it down around Soho.
