Ok so let’s start out with the fact that I’m an American, so take that for what it’s worth! Becca was our server and she was fantastic! We came in two nights in a row due to her recommendation on the cote de boeuf the first night. We brought home the leftover steak, salad and fries to the kids the first night and my son gnawed on the ribeye bone for breakfast(yes, I understand that you’re now wondering where we’re from in the States, but he was simply passed out from the trip so he was asleep when we got back!). I am obsessed with the tuna carpaccio(swear its simple flavor with giant capers made me order it twice). It’s what I had for dinner the second night, along with the broccoli, which I swear is broccolini in America, and has a simple but yummy flavor especially for someone craving that type of food. My husband LOVED the black Angus burger the second night and he is equally obsessed with the Sparkling Pear drink. The service here is so attentive and fun, from check in to check out. Tack onto all of this the big screen showing of the Euro Cup and I’d be surprised if you’re sorry you stopped here by.

Excellent dining experience and lovely service from our waiter! I had a lovely steak salad(maybe slightly overpriced) but the steak was of good quality. Things arrived the way we asked them too and within reasonable time. Will return.

All round had a decent meal here last night. Not a lot of choice for the starters but the prawns and squid were both good. For mains T-Bone and Rib-eye were both well cooked and full of flavour. Chips, salad and sauce are included in the price so not to bad on value for money. Wines were however overpriced in my opinion. Service was great from start to finish. Not my first visit and will not be my last.

Sophie’s packs a powerful punch with a delicious steak and decadent wine. The pear martinis are out of this world. Our waiter Paul was AMAZING! ASk for Paul’s section when you come. The manager Christian stopped by for a nice chat. Everything was perfect. We will be coming back(all the way from Los Angeles, CA)!

We came here to get some food before seeing the Lion King and enjoyed our experience. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was delicious. The service was enjoyable but nothing remarkable. This was an excellent place to get food if you are in this part of town,

I had low expectations since I got this dinner plus thatcher tickets package for a very good price but I ended up having a great experience at Sophie’s steakhouse. I went there on a Tuesday evening after work. The staff was really friendly, served us promptly. I had fried calamari for starter and it was well done. Then I had the steak frites for the main dish and it was excellent. The meat was really great, the French fries were also well done and they had this cheese sauce that went great with the food. We had a snickers cheesecake for dessert that wasn’t particularly amazing(it had nuts and the chocolate mixed in it). But overall the experience was very good. Since I checked in there, Unilocal offered a free glass of house wine, which also also great.

I have past this place on numerous occasions. Always looks busy and the menu looks inviting. A quick Monday venue was needed for a family meal. What a pleasure it was to have eaten there. Service was excellent from beginning to end. We had many questions for the waiting staff as we had a couple of «problem» eaters, all dealt with impeccably. Food was as you would expect excellent. Ambiance perfect, drinks perfect. Steak cooked to perfection, very generous portions, you must have the chocolate ice cream, I haven’t tasted anything so good for 40 plus years. Nobody in our group of 4 had anything but praise for the meal, service and ambiance. Main course, several sides, deserts with extras and drinks £170.00(£42.50ea) you can’t fault that given it was Covent Garden. Will defiantly visit again.

Pretty good place especially for a nicer family dinner. No wait for 4 on a Sunday around 7 pm, and they give you delicious free salami. There’s free wifi for my fellow ameeicans. We got the scallop appetizers, which are a steep £4EACH… But they were delicious(still not worth the price). I had the fillet or filet which was also good but needed sauce. The bernaise wasn’t good though. The French fries were outstanding(cooked in steak fat). I also had the house rosé which was refreshing and free with a Unilocal check in!

Amazing place to eat and drink! Their drinks are delicious — I tried their vodka daisy and a flat White Russian, both exquisite. The bartender was skilled and funny, totally enjoyed his handywork! Wish I’d seen this place and had dinner here before we went to the Italian across the street where the pizza was awful. Sophie’s is great! Go there!

Got the 24oz steak to share. Need I say more? Got this previously and have to say, the standard dropped slightly this time round. The meat was more fatty. And there wasn’t as much meat this time as there were more pieces with bone. None the less, still a good place to go for a catch up with friends and the ribs are pretty awesome too.

I love this place! They do great cocktails, good food and little plates of salami where you would normally get bread or olives. The bar area is a great place to have a few drinks, although it does get busy sometimes. The restaurant has a great menu and the waiters are always great. The only reason they loose one star is for the cost of their steaks. The meat is great quality, but with cheapest steak coming in at £25(with chips) I would expect something a bit more special. Never the less I’m sure I’ll keep coming back for years to come.

«Wanderlust never having been to London?» Yeah unfortunately that news worthy title would describe me; until today!!! Upon arrival I was whisked away to Harrods’ where I experience traditional tea time and an assortment of crumpets, scones, and tea cakes of course our good ol foe Jet Lag was present. Anyway I’m rambling… back to Sophie’s…what a fantastic first dinner in London Town! I had the tuna and it was superb. Fantastic service by Olivia! Currently trying to justify visiting again before heading off to France. Thanks for the love and food Sophie’s!

Ribeye ribeye… yummy. Cooked to perfection and love the chips with skin on. The Sophie’s sauce is quite tasty, taste like brown sauce with a twist. Love my glass of Malbec wine. Didn’t quite make it for the pre-theatre menu(5−7pm) but enjoyed my evening. Paid about 47 bucks… not a bad deal. The waiter that waited on my table is very friendly. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Christmassy feel however it is so noisy that I don’t think is a ideal place for conversation :) overall good, will come back next time

Get here before 7pm and you too can indulge in a tasty two-course after-work meal for just £14. I tend to go for the chicken liver parfait followed by the steak frites. Service in general is pretty good, and they can usually accommodate you without having to queue if you come early on a week night. They have a large round table which is where we sat for my friends birthday(think it seats around 12) so definitely ask for that so you can speak to everyone in the group easily!

Being American and coming to an American style steak house was interesting as it wasn’t very American. A lot of the items were really over-priced and they weren’t really American to begin with. Food lacked flavor too. The good thing about this place is that they do serve alcohol after 11pm.

Came here just for a coffee, but ended up getting a glass of rose’ instead, thanks to the awesome Unilocal check-in offer! A beer, champagne, rose’, red or white wine. so many options, and even an option to choose what kind of beer etc. That was a pleasant surprise as most check-in complimentary beverages are just one type of drink. Also shared the pineapple carpaccio, and my what a treat! At first, it looks like a slice of pineapple was sliced off the whole fruit, and served with a dollop of ice cream. But really, I discovered that it was layers of shaved pineapple, ribbon-ed together to look like one slice. Quite beautiful actually! Served with a creamy scoop of ice cream, and with a bit of acid on it, this dish was not only refreshing, but really hit the spot!

Having missed the Elite event here, Andrew M, Hannah W and I took our Unilocaling duties seriously enough to spend our own money and come here for dinner on Friday evening together with my sister(still not a Unilocaler!) Their no reservation policy did make me a little nervous but I managed to walk straight in and get a table at 7.30 and the restaurant is big inside. In keeping with modern trends, it’s dim inside and I had to use my iPhone light to read the menu It was nice that they served a complementary plate of salami to munch on while we perused the menu Being Unilocalers, we ordered a variety of steaks in order to try them all! Andrew warned us that the previous reviews had stated that they tended to overcook their steaks. I enjoyed my non alcoholic Green Fingers cockail and Andrew managed to confuse the waiting staff by asking for a Sazerac. To their credit, the waiting staff did bring one of the bar staff over to find out what it was The steaks were generous in size with nice stripey charring on the outside. Out of the fillet, sirloin and ribeye we ordered, the ribeye was my favourite from the flavour point of view. However, the quality wasn’t up to other admittedly more expensive steakhouses. Unfortunately, Andrew’s steak also came out way overcooked from the rare that he had requested The puddings however did prove a surprise hit. Hannah’s choice of pineapple carpaccio initially looked like a lazily sliced hunk of pineapple but further investigation with forks revealed that what appeared to be a hunk of pineapple was in fact made of folded strips of pineapple with mint, which was a revelation in how well they went together. The pineapple texture also suggested that it may perhaps have been compressed as the flavour was intense. Our other choices of sticky toffee pudding and dark chocolate fudge brownie delivered the usual moreish sticky enjoyment but the pineapple was a revelation A fun venue. Amazing pineapple. Above average steaks. Four stars
