Went for a eye test today at this branch. The optometrist was friendly and professional. She genuinely seemed interested in my medical background and I trusted her opinion. It’s a chain store. You are never going to get the personal one to one interaction that a independent place would have. The good thing was that after my eye test they was never any type of pressure to buy glasses. Which was good. Their selection were basic but were moderately priced.

Before I was diagnosed with cluster headaches I came here for an eye test to see if my prescription was out of date. I remember I’d come from the laundromat and had a big bag of laundry on my back, my eyes were probably bloodshot due to lack of sleep from the headaches, oh and also, I had a 3 day beard. So I must be a homeless person. That’s certainly the way I was treated. The optometrist herself was quite nice and very thorough. But when she was finished I was left with the front of house staff again who clearly wanted me out of the shop as soon as possible. The main cow I was dealing with actually couldn’t believe that I was signed up for their lensmail scheme and had to be told that an eye test for me was £20, not the £40 she was trying to charge me. Maybe that’s what I get for living in suburbia. People at the Bloomsbury branch are much better. But as a whole I’ve noticed it’s best to stay from so called ‘professional service’ chains like Specsavers and Boots. There’s just something wrong with the staff.
