Absolutely horrendous customer service, overpriced food. I’ve been trying to give Spreads a chance but it’s by far the worst breakfast spot in St. James.

I’d say this place is a weak four but I am feeling generous this eve! Pall Mall is a food desert. There is just no place to eat or if there are places they are posh and expensive. This cute«caf» has a varied menu of sandwiches, salads, pastas, etc., ample seating in the back, and free and strong wifi. I don’t have much to go on – just a panini and a drink, but the staff is really slow with the English language despite being very nice and friendly and I was a bit surprised by the cost(although it is Pall Mall). But if I were in the hood and needed some food, I’d probably go back.

I guess I’m the second American to review this great little eatery. I work on Haymarket, and today was a rainy day, so I was looking for something close by that I hadn’t tried yet. I stumbled upon Café Spreads, browsed the outdoor menu, and decided it sounded perfect. There was quite a line for seating(as it was lunch time), but since I was by myself, I was able to sit at a small bar by the front window. The service was fast and friendly, and the waitress helped me with my decision. I ordered a hot chocolate(which was served piping hot and delicious), a Chicken, Avocado, and Bacon Bap(which came with a small garnish salad of sweet corn, tomato, lettuce, and cucumber), and a Diet Coke. The food was served promptly and was just as I had ordered. Next time I go(probably later this week), I will order one of their stuffed jacket potatoes which looked amazing. This seemed to be their specialty as most of the people who looked like regulars ordered the potato. Overall, it was a great place with friendly staff and good food.

I flew all the way from the USA to be the first reviewer of Spreads Café! Having a long layover at Gatwich I decided to head into the city to get outside, check my email and just enjoy the UK even if it’s only for a few hours. I wanted to check my email so I set out to find a café that: 1) Provided free wifi access. 2) Wasn’t really crowded which in my experience, isn’t easy in the Piccadilly Cirus area. Café Spreads provides both along with friendly service. The mocha wasn’t anything special but it was good. They also have a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items. I’m giving this 3 stars but it’s a solid 3.

Clean efficient personally made sandwiches, a little pricey but quality. There are tables at the back, I’ve not tried sitting down there yet, looks crowded at lunchtimes.?If you want cheaper go around the corner to Tesco Express in Lower Regents Street’s for prepacked stuff in plastic wraps.
