St. Athans Hotel

Si lo lees rápido y en castellano parece que ponga Satanás! Pero si esto es un hotel infernal, divino hotel infernal. Está situado en un lugar de Londres muy agradable, rodeado de parques y plazas. Si te levantas con ganas de pasear esa mañana, tienes el centro de la ciudad a unos 20 minutos andando. La distancia al metro de Russell Square es de 5 minutos andando a espaldas del hotel.
La primera impresión que te da nada más llegar con su letrero con neones rojos tintineantes es: «dónde me he metido» pero enseguida cambias de idea. La fachada y la casa es típica de construcción inglesa con sus escaleras de entrada, su hueco lateral humeante con escaleras que bajan al sótano. Nada más pasar el umbral de la puerta, cambia la atmósfera, todo enmoquetado le da un aire retro, y la verdad lo mantienen muy limpio.
La recepción del hotel está en una sala nada mas entrar. Los trabajadores son todos muy simpàticos y cercanos y están atentos a todo lo que necesites sin poner en ningún momento una mala cara. Tienen personal en recepción las 24 horas. Una vez hecho el check-​in subimos a la habitación, las cuales hay de todo tipo, la nuestra cama doble con un pequeño armario, lavabo y fuera en el pasillo ducha y wc compartido.
El hotel no es gran cosa, pero para los turistas que vamos a dormir solo por la noche y el resto del día a patear es más que suficiente. Lo hacen especial la situación, el personal, su buena cama, su limpieza, su acogedora sala de estar, su wifi… y su precio. No se puede pedir mucho más, por lo menos yo. Es la segunda vez que me hospedo allí y no lo dudaré la tercera vez. El trato amigo y a veces una cama, son más que suficientes.

Das St. Athans ist ein nettes, familiäres
Hotel mitten in Bloomsbury, sehr gut gelegen (Tube: Kings Cross /​Russel Square
/​Euston). Die Zimmer sind, wie auf der Webseite angegeben sehr klein, aber für
einen Städtetrip absolut ausreichend. Badezimmer sind zum Großteil relativ neu
renoviert und sehr sauber. Das Haus ist ziemlich alt und hat Charme, inklusiver
knarrender Dielen :) Das Personal ist sehr nett und extrem hilfsbereit. Absolut
zu empfehlen, das Preis/​Leistungsverhältnis ist super!

Kann mich nur dem ersten Kommentar anschließen. Preis-​Leistungsverhältniss top. Für die Lage im quasi Zentrum Londons nichts auszusetzen. Ansprüche sollten sich allerdings im Rahmen halten. — Zimmer sauber, aber schon ewig nicht mehr renoviert.

— Türspalt unter der Zimmertür von ca. 3−4cm und dementsprechend etwas frisch.
— Personal freundlich und locker drauf.
— English Breakfast. gerne wieder!

Preis-​Leistung auf jeden Fall in Ordnung.
Vielleicht nicht unbedingt im Winter buchen, da Heizung miniklein und Bad im Treppenhaus.
Frühstück sehr umfangreich, typisch englisch und schmackhaft.
Lage sehr praktisch, St. Pancras (Thalys-​Bahnhof) einen halben Km entfernt. Weitere Metrostationen um die Stadt zu erkunden um die Ecke.
Personal sehr freundlich, spricht teilweise auch deutsch.

I stayed in this hotel for two weeks last October. The overall experience was quite good: very nice personnel, big English breakfast and a very good location for the price. I also received a discount for staying longer then a week: £55 per night instead of £59 for a twin room. The twin rooms are really good and spacious.

We (3 friends) spent a night at st. athans bed & breakfast. The room was not bad and the common restrooms and baths where wonderful. The receptionist was very kind and let us store our luggage in the cellar after our checkout. (most hotels won’t let you without a fee). I would spent other nights there too. I think the price was very good. The Hotel was very close to Russel Square Underground and to a big shoping centre with plenty of restaurants and cafes. Also a TESCO Supermarket is near and open till late in the night (excellent when your hungry and on the reutrn from the city). The Hotel had a common room with a tv and free Wi-​fi.
Only the breakfast was not so good. It was too oily and … simply not good.
Putting all in a nutshell this hotel is his money worth it and I would come again.
