I came here on a Saturday and sat outside in the lovely(if not temporary) July weather we are having. Had a coffee and a sausage roll, which in my hungover state thought would be a sausage bap, as thats what we call them in Ireland. Still, it was tasty but would have liked it warmed up. The atmosphere was nice, with kids and dogs seeming welcome in the small space. The décor is cute, and the mismatched cutlery was charming. I would happily come back here for coffee and a catch up with friends.

I really like this coffee shop. Great coffee and very nice atmosphere. Informal and with character. There’s free wifi and I’ve spent a number of hours getting on with work on my laptop whilst sampling their lovely selection of cakes. Very good quality food. Some outdoor seating at the front. It is on the pricey side, so I can’t afford to go there as often as I’d like, but I do enjoy if for a treat. I think Might go there today.

As a West Londoner, sadly the St David Coffee House is unlikely to become a regular haunt, but it was well worth the special trip for an opening of a recent art exhibition(if you’re lucky some of Dale Wilson’s works are still on display …). It’s such a lovely place, it is actually well worth the extra trip and I am waiting for an excuse to return for a coffee.

A lovely quirky coffee emporium, wish it had hot breakfasts though.

Wow I can’t believe I’m the first person to write a review on this great little coffee shop, I will attempt to do it justice! It’s located over the road from Forest Hill station on a little row raised above the noise of the south circular that unfortunately runs through Forest Hill. The general vibe inside is one of a coffee and tea shop wholesomeness combined with a retro chic quirkiness. Wooden tables and chairs offer seating to relax. A counter full of lovely cakes on cake stands, jams and other such delights greet you as your order. Once ordered you can feast your eyes on the many retro antique items that adorn the shelves. Memory inducing collections of old lady bird books, star wars toys and what looked like a stereo 8 cassette player and tape collection were jewels spotted. If that doesn’t keep you musing then why not have a look at the book swap to see if there’s something you’ve always fancied reading. So is there substance to this style? Well I’ve not eaten here but if the food is anything like the coffee it will be a real treat. I’ve been here three times and counting and each time I’ve ordered a cappuccino and latte. The cappuccinos are the riches, smoothest, tasty and well served coffees I’ve had anywhere. In fact I recently had a coffee from a leading coffee shop in borough market that in a ‘coffee off’ with St David’s Coffee house coffee wouldn’t stand a chance! The lattes I’m told are a winner, not over milky as they so often can be. All this for less that £4 so great value. So I’ll be back again to enjoy the coffee and maybe the food, that is if I’m not on the way back from the super market!

This coffee shop is a wonderful addition to Forest Hill. It’s got a really relaxed bohemian feel, amazing cakes, isn’t too expensive and they even allow our mischievous jack russell puppy in. Nothing is too much trouble and you’re really made to feel welcome. I don’t drink coffee so can’t comment on the quality of that(although my husband said it was excellent) but they have a range of teas and all that I’ve tried so far have been very good. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
